How long have you owned your current E36 M3, or if it's a replacement for one you previously owned, how long together? I'm just curious how long the passion lasts with most. I've owned mine for 8 years, but I lost most interest around 5 years ago. Now, all of a sudden, I'm back into maintaining/modding it!

I've owned my '97 m3 since May of 2000, I've had my '76 2002 since March of '89. My family has had at least one BMW in the driveway since 1976.

i have spent to much time and $ to ever replace my baby. also i want to keep it and turn it into a track car only later on down the road. hopefully the flame never dwindles.

6 months...but the plan is to keep it until it dies. I will never sell.
Bought my M3 2 weeks ago And ive already put a $2k+ stereo in it, tint, exhaust, and some general maintainence items Ive had my SS for over 3 years though...
Got it June 15, 1995, it had 2 miles.
No matter where you go, there you are...
darn,
I voted for 1-2 years, and I thought i was a n00b.
M3 #1: 14 months. Selling it was my biggest automotive regret and sent me into a tailspin of car ownership. Keeping it would have been a lot less expensive.
5 years later...
M3 #2: 1 month. This ones sticking around for LONG time. Not making that mistake gain.
Acquired my '97 in '99
If memory serves me right I believe i had it for three years this month. I'll be honest sometimes the fire dwindles, but only because i have thoughts for the e46 M3. There are alot of nice cars out there but few to non can compare to the all around versatilty and of this car which makes me wanna keep it for a long time to come. But me like most any other car enthusiats loves that new car feeling and smell which i sometimes want to feel again but unfortunaly i can only comfortably, afford one car at the moment and no others are worth selling for her.
Besides that, i saw one drive by me last night and i couldn't wait to jump back in mine.
