1997 M3 with old-style HU
I just picked up a 1997 M3/4, and it appears to have been retrofitted with the old type head unit that you stop seeing in E36s around 1995, whatever it's called. The manual that came with the car is for the C33 unit, but my car has the HU that looks identical to the one I've seen in many 1995 M3s, for example. It's got the small LCD display on the far right of the unit, and has the weatherband button. The car also is prewired, but does not come with a CD-changer. So, my question is, will aftermarket CD changers designed for 1996+ E36s, like the USA Spec SCD-B2i work in my car, and if not, what changer do I need?
