    Fading Odometer/Trip Meter Display

I remember a while back reading about a class action lawsuit regarding fading odometer/trip meter displays. I even remember printing a letter from the attorney indicating that BMW has agreed to supply the part if the customer pays for one hour of labor to install.
My Wife's 97 M3 has almost completely faded away and I can't find this post or the letter I printed. Couldn't find anything on search either. May have been a post on the E36M3 list at BMW-M.net.
Anyone have any information regarding this?

I found it's probably a light bulb behind the instrument cluster that's probably the culprit. Anyone BTDT?
