Hey everyone,
Newbie her, just need some information about alignment settings for the track. I've been into BMW's since I was 8, and have just bought an e30 318is beater to attend DE's with. Have just purchased H&R sport springs, Bilstein Sprot shocks, M3 off-set control arm bushings, new oem control arms, 15" Koenig "rewind" rims shod with Khumo's, and an alcantra wrapped e30 M3 evoIII steering wheel. I'll be installing all of it tomorrow, and need to find out what the best alignment specs would be for Summit point, & VIR respectively. I've already done a search, and it has not yeilded any substantial results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to learn how to drive properly on the track, and swap all of these parts onto an e30 325i next year in hopes of competing in spec e30. Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated!

My education and background is in residential architecture, but my passion has always been cars. I'm relatively new to motorsports. I have just over 4 seasons of autocross experience. My actual track experience is limited by time and budget, but I'm catching up.
My business has grown out of my passion for the hobby, and I'm dedicated to maintaining it as a useful component in the BMW community.
If you see me at the track, please stop by and say hello!

Started Tracking cars in 2005 3 months after I bought my subaru sti. Less than a year later I started TTing the car and realized i didnt want to ball up a $30k car. I then bought a 944 cup car and started racing in 2007. I'm now instructing (a little), and racing every time I can. I'm now in the market for an IP car

My uncle owns a shelby gt350 that he races with VSCDA. Ever since i was younger i hav went with him to every race and helped. We went to a SCCA event like when i was 12 and i saw a white e36 m3. Ever since then all i have wanted to do was get one and get into SCCA solo. I currently run shifter karts and am saving up so i can sell that and finally buy a track car. This forum has helped me out a lot and has a lot pf usefull info. Im sure all of you will be helping me out once i get a car. Younguys are all great.

Long time HPDE nut and instructor with most of the major clubs. I especially love the winter driving/rally schools. Seems I'm one of the few guys left who still drives his track car to and from events...even when going from Montreal to Sebring, for example. Getting there is half the fun.

I like HPDE, occassionally do cone dodging. Autocrossed 9 times, 4 HPDEs so far. I started out autocrossing first, then got into HPDE. Been to buttonwillow, willow springs, california speedway. So far I go through NASA for HPDE. I wish I had Jon Holder's old C-mod E36 M3. And thanks to Bullet Motorsports Speedlab who helped turn my car into a street/track car.
I come on the boards to learn about my car (maintenance, mods, detailing)
HPDE is fun!!!

Hey, All. Eric here. Doing DE events for 15 months now, in California and Arizona. I all-but-blew my budget buying a tired '95 M3 and open trailer six months ago, and I'm slowly making the car competitive. But my primary focus is still making myself competitive -- improving driving skills by trying to do at least one event a month. Hope to go for a NASA racing license in a year, then CCA. I looked at different options when settling on my first track car and chose an IP M3 in large part because I was impressed with the BMW racing community -- open, skilled, with club friendliness and comraderie while maintaining relatively high standards of quality and dedication. I look forward to learning and sharing through these forums and -- of course -- track events.

'97 Z3 2.8L (purchased Apr 2002)
'95 325is (purchased Nov 2004, sold Oct 2005 after my first DE)
'04 RX-8 (leased Oct 2005 - Apr 2007 with countless DE's)
'87 325is K-Prepared #007 race car (purchased Oct 2006, began club racing May 2007)
'07 Silverado (leasing Aug 2007 - Dec 2010, obviously the tow rig)
History:
Started Autocross in 2001 with the Saturn, attended every possible autocross once I got my Z3 in '02.
Began instructing autocross in '03, codriving countless cars over the years.
Ran my first DE late in '04 with the 325is.
The RX-8 was my winter/track bitch and was absolutely awesome. Several autocrosses, but more dedicated to every DE I could afford.
Ran advanced group by the end of '05.
Continued running DE's in '06 and '07, co-driving several other cars (prepped MR-2, 911's, Evo, 350Z w/ twin-turbo, and others).
Began instructing DE's in April 2007, just beore aquiring my Club Racing License.
Began Club Racing the E30 in May 2007 and ran 4 races this year (3 at Mid-Ohio, 1 at Watkins Glen). Its been a year of learning the hard way, but for those races that I haven't done something stupid (visiting the gravel trap or pitting under yellow), I've finished 1st in class. Interestingly enough, my best overall performance and finish was in my very first race weekend! I've been very fortunate to have the help of friends, especially within our group, Duct Tape Motorsports.
I'm really just now (Nov 2007) realizing that this is where all the Club Racers are hiding! I intend to post here more often. Looking forward to getting to know some of you better.
