I write regional (California—Buttonwillow, Willowsprings, Fontana, Laguna Seca...etc) BMWCCA Club Race reports for Roundel. Or, at least, I'm starting to. I've been tasked to do up to 5 races this year, spread out across the calendar year. It's nice to know there are plenty of So. Cal area contingency hanging around here.
Just started this whole DE thing about 3 years ago, wish I could've started way earlier.
"Bench racing" about track times driven by professionals are like a bunch of nerds arguing which Princess Leia is hotter, the slave Leia or the no-bra jail-bait Leia. No matter how compelling your argument is, the plain and simple fact is, none of you will EVER get to hit that.
Tommy Regan
"Tommy R" everywhere I post (here, corner-carvers, scca forums, etc.) since I prefer to know people by their real names and vice versa. I've road raced a bit and done DE's and am an instructor (time permitting). But, I'm mostly an autocrosser and have built and raced a rather large variety of hardware.

I've attended driving school at Bondurant in Phoenix and promptly used my knowledge to spin out on turn 5 in the infield at PIR at a DE earlier this year. Confidence shaken, I'm still anxious to get out to the next DE.

I've been doing random autoX's when I have time and money for about 5 years now. I'm also a broke college student. I started doing some DE's in a modified truck none the less about 2 years ago. A blue Chevrolet truck ended my F150 sportscar and I got a 1995 M3. I haven't had a chance to OT it or autoX it yet. Wanting to build the M3 for racing but its distant right now. I also bought a 1992 nissan 240sx that I am building for NASA SRX class.
its not at all ready to drive yet. probably not for a while.

i'm one of those honda DE freaks that insists on running around BW and WSIR with a late model front wheel drive car. but, as the addiction to DE's grows stronger, the smart-guy in me wants a track-only car, and the bmw lover in me is telling me to make sure it's an e30...
anyway, i used to A/X more in the past, but i find myself more interested in DE's and eventually getting my comp license when i can afford to race w2w. looking at Honda Challenge or SCCA IT racing as a place to get started...
anyway, nice to meet you all!

Novice right now, but gonna feel in comfortable in C group next year and try to get in 3-6 events. Drive my E30 325is on GC's. Just picked up a 85 325e as a daily so I don't have to have the track slut on campus with all the drunks around.
I use scholarship $ to fund my driver's education.

As screen name implied, I have '03 330i ZHP that I occasionally do the DE, Laguna Seca, Willow Spring, and various AutoX. It has got into retirement, daily beater, while my '05 M3 ZCP will now be my track car. Hope to see you on a local So. Cal tracks...
