    Unhappy Power steering pump

    The power steering fluid on my 93 325i keeps on turning brown. Even after flushing the entire system with Mobil 1 synthetic atf when I replaced the low pressure hoses last week, the fluid started to turn brown again (with a burnt smell). So I guess the pump is on its way out. I got a quote from Pacific BMW for ~$230 with a $60 core charge... is this a good price? Does anyone know if the bad fluid is going to mess up my steering rack ($$$)?
