Thread: How much paint do I need to paint the following stuff?

    B5.5 Passat Wagon

    How much paint do I need to paint the following stuff?

    Front bumper (M3)
    sideskirts (M3)
    97+ nosepanel

    A pint or so? I need to call the paint shop soon so how much should they make? I've already got plenty of reducer, primer and clear. And that flexicrap too. It's granite silver metallic if that makes any difference.

    When I did my skirts and shot the greys on my front and rear bumpers, I mixed an entire quart.

    When I got done, I ended up pouring the rest of the paint I did not use back into the quart can, which almost completely filled it up.

    Mix ratio was 50% reducer to base paint w/harder added.

    If you're doing base/clear then a pint should be fine. You don't have to have build with it, just enough for even coverage.

    A pint is more than enough... it's easy to forget about the reducer which makes

    it a QT. Don't knock the flex agent !! I wish I used it on my nose and will be spraying again...
