I just saw the same wheels that Gazoline mentioned, and was wondering as to the quality of those wheels? I like the style, but they are a little heavy. However, they come in the size I want and are relatively cheap. Any input would be appreciated.
Slow cars are quite possibly the most fun to own: you can push to extract all the performance you want on a daily basis without getting a ticket.
Jim,
Could you help???

Replica CSL

1997 BMW M3/4 - Gone
Would these fit a 93 318i?

35 offset

thanks
I purchase a set of 17x8 style #44.Its currently on 225-45-17.Do you recommended that size tire or i can go 235-40-17.Any help would be great.
BTW,Its for my 97 328is
If you are looking for better handling I like the 235/40R17. If not the 225/45R17 will ride a little better.
If I can help let me know.
Hey Jim,
I have a 1990 E30 325i and I'm planning of buying a set of wheels with these specs:
Bolt Pattern: 4X100
Wheel Size: 17X7
Center Bore: 57.1MM
Offset: 25mm
Would they fit my car and what tires would you recommed? From your site, I am thinking of ordering a set of four BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 but I dont know what size? 205/45YR17 or 205/40YR17 since the car is about 1 inch lower than stock?
Thanks for your help in advance,
José
very useful thread!
I need to get tires for my 99 328is
-lowered on H&R sports
-TSW Evos 17"
-current tires = 235/45
the sidewall looks fat and i would like a lower profile --i also get some rubbing when i go over bumps.
would a 235/40 be good? or should i go lower? i know so very little about tire sizing...
also Jim- if i were to call up and make an order today, do you have an installer here in san diego that you recommend or just get anyone to do it?
thanks
Some ladies like a hand-held. I prefer to drive mine.
the lower sidewall would help but more importantly is; what is the wheel offset?Originally Posted by BabyM

if they are indeed 35mm, (and they probably are) then a lower sidewall will definately help. but any lowering with that offset is likely to encounter some sort of rub and a slight fender roll may be in order.Originally Posted by BabyM
ok, yeah a fender roll would be fine --i figured i would have to do that at some point, just need to find someone with a tool who likes to work for beer

I have 18x 8.5 Hamann's, what is my best option for tires? The tires on it currently are 225/40's and are stretching noticeably. The tread is fine, but one of the tires has a nail in it and rather than replace the tire that isn't quite right I figure get it straight now.
I have 18X8.5 Breytons and I run 235/40's it give the "best" (almost square) sidewall appearance and no rubbng on a stock suspension.Originally Posted by Jordan94530i
So you probably couldn't get away with 245's it seems.
you could in the rear but I wouldn't up front, but again depending on the offset you could perhaps run into rubbing if the offset is not optimal. 38-47mm is the range you want to be in for a wide tire.Originally Posted by Jordan94530i
would these fit my 96' 328is? I'm thinking also bout lowering the car 2".... Do i need a camber kit, Do i need to worry bout any rubbing?

look at the offset...they will rub.

well then here they are from the page...Originally Posted by Jim@tirerack
Wheel Specs:
Brand new in the box
19 x 8.5
35mm offset
72.6 center bore
24 pounds
Auction is either for Silver with chrome lip or Charcoal Chrome Lip
14 mm lug holes
All Sevas Wheels are DOT and TUV certified.
A 35mm offset is going to take some fender modification to work on the car. Especially with the 8.5 width.
I've got my E30, dropped about 1.5" all the way around.
Bolt pattern: 4X100
I just purchased some wheels, 17X7 ET42 4X100, tirerack recommends 205/45/17, but if you go up to 205/50/17 you get a cheaper price for tires.
What is the difference in the two tires?
Second question, would 20mm spacers work, and do I have to go all the way around on those?
I call her Jenny
WTB E30 Manual Swap equipment, and M50 or s50 engine. PM me.
The 20mm spacer would actually be too much. I would look at a 10mm spacer and yes you would need them on all four corners. I would say that the 205/50R17 is not going to work on the E30.
If I can help let me know.
