Also, would the 255/35 tires be to streched on a 9.5" wheel? Thanks again.
I have 255/35 on 9.5" (check my sig for details) and no it is not stretched.

I have an e46 325ci. I'm getting new rims soon and was looking at an 18" set that are 8.5" in the front and 9.5 in the back. Would I be able to run this setup, if so what would be recommended for tires and would I have to roll my fenders in the rear?

With a 18X9.5 and around a 35mm offset the 255/35R18 will fit fine on the car. I would recommend the 255/40R18 or 275/35R18. If I can help with the tires let me know.

I'm looking at the Beyern Mesh 18", 9.5 for the rear. They have a 40mm offset. Would that be an issue?

Jim, does the slightly taller 275/35/18 tire (approximately 0.6 inch dia) really change things much or is it negligible?

Would an 18x9" rim with 45mm offset fit a '97 328is on all four corners?
I think the fronts would def. need 10-15mm spacers, right?

And would 245/35/18 be too much for the fronts?

    Thanks!

It would need to have some work done to make it fit. Fender lip roll, spacers and probably some negative camber.

    Hey thanks for the info.
Are you suggesting all fenders should be rolled, or just the front or the rear?
Do you think it would be better to go down to 235/35/18? (I'm trying to go with the same size all around).

    Thanks Jim!

    BBS LM BBK fitment.

Do you know what the front big brake fitment is like on 19x8.5 or 19X9 LM's for an E36 or E46 M3? Do you have to run any spacers on the 355mm kit?

    Thanks,

    Exclamation e36 '99 323iS w/ Riken Raptors 215/40/87

I have a 1999 e36 323iS that came pre-fitted with Riken Raptor tires (which were from an M5) of the following specification:

    215/40ZR17 87W

Now the dealer said I needed to do some modifications to keep the car from shaking when rolling anywhere from 5 to 45 mph... any faster and the car seems to smooth out okay, but if I drive around that range of speed, the car & the steering wheel shake pretty bad.

Would I need spacers for this car? Looks like it has stock brakes & rotors, so I don't think modifications were done near the wheels, but it looks like the car is fitted with aftermarket springs.

    Thanks for reading/posting in advance!

You could have to roll all of the fender lips.

It is going to stick out of the wheel well. With a 35mm offset even a 245/35R18 I would say would need to have the fender lips rolled.

Those wheels will not fit the M5. The offset is for a 3 Series.

The 225/45R18 is going to be 1" taller than the stock tires. I would not recommend it.

The wheel size for the M5 would be 19X8 or 19X8.5 front and 19X9.5 or 19X10 rear. The offset would need to be around 15 to 20mm for the M5 front and rear.
The tires should be 245/35R19 front and 275/30R19 rear.
If I can help let me know.

    Need Offset Help

    Hello All,

I have the stock 17's that are staggered with 235/45/17's up front and 255/40/17's in the back and I would like to go with 18x8.5's all around.

Does anyone know what the perfect offset is for an 8.5in wide wheel for the front and the back. I would like the wheel to be very close to the edge of the wheel well and I do not want to roll my fenders.

I am running on the stock suspension at this time and would like to run 235/40/18's all around.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    2008 328xi coupe

Hey everyone what's up, I'm a newbie to the forum and i just purchased my first BMW and was looking for some help. I'm waiting for my new 328xi coupe that i will be recieving sometime in july. I wanted to put on a set of 19" m6 replicas. I was thinking of going staggered 235/35/19 in the front, 265/30/19 at the rear. I was thinking of purchasing them threw Modbargains.com. The person i spoke to assured me that i would have no problems with rubbing of any sort and that the staggered rims would still be ok even with the all wheel drive. Just wanted to know what you guys think, please help me out. Also take in consideration that i do have the sport package. Thanks

    Hello Jim@tirerack:

    Almost the same situation.

I am looking to use my stock wheels for snow tires and purchase new wheels and tires for my E39 540i.

    I have the sports package.

    Currently on the front:
    225/45 17 on 17*8 wheels

    Currently on the rear:
    255/40 17 on 17*9 wheels

Your website says that I can use wheel size 19*8 and tire size 245/35 19 on the front.
Wheel size 19*9.5 and tire size 275/30 19 on the rear.

I am not sure if my case is the same as the M5. Good so far?

Next, I have never done a wheel/tire size change before. What should I expect the difference to be between the stock setup and the one suggested above? Ride? Handling? The 540 feels ponderous in the twisties compared to my E90 with sports package. The ride is plenty smooth so I would not mind giving up some for better handling.

Think it better to only go to 18" wheels or am I OK as outlined here?
