I have a 95 325iS that I do not plan on lowering. I know nearly nothing about tires and rims so I would like a bit of guidance if possible as to what fits my car stock for rims and tires. I've spent a couple hours reading through this section but I just don't understand the numbers. I am thinking I would like either 17's or 18's if possible. Sorry for the ill-informed question.
For an e36 m3 with 17" 7.5" front and 8.5" back I've heard there are some sizes which fit better than the recommend size?
The dealer I bought my m3 from had 235/45 on the front, and 245/40 on the rear.
Could you recommend me the best tire sizes for front and rear? Thank you.
I have a 1995 325is and i would like to replace my stocks wheels. The replacement wheels have 18MM offset for both the front and rear. The size for the front wheels is 19" x 8.5" and the size for the rear is 19" x 9.5". Will these wheels fit my car?

Hi. Kind of new to the forum so please forgive the rookie approach. I'm looking at new wheels for my 2005 M3. Either BMW CSL, OZ Botticelli III, OZ Galileo III, or Veloce XS. I'm also putting on Brembo's big brake kit on all four corners. Question: I think 19" of all these versions will fit but what about 20"? Like many others on the post, I don't want any rub. And will all these wheels fit with the Brembo kit? And does anyone have any reasons not to buy any of these wheels? Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.
came here first, haven't read the whole thread
simple question:
Will 17" Style 5's be a simple replacement mount on a '95 E34 525 (stock height)?
(I see a lot of 'em in sig pics, but will they just bolt on without spacers, hubs, adapters, etc?)
Thanks

You have a slightly different situation.
to answer your questions:
-YES, you can put 20s on there
-Rubbing: depends on your offset, wheel width and tire size
-Fitment issues: this all depends on what you do from the point of making the wheel and the actual caliper size as well as the brake rotor size (345mm, 355mm, 380mm). Which kit are you considering? These things, coupled with the high, low or medium disk setup of the wheels you get make all of the difference

Wow. I'm glad I asked. You might as well been speaking latin. I have no clue on 90% of what you mentioned. OK, so for those of us who are definately NOT wheel smart, what do I need to know? My end goal is to have one of the sets of wheels I mentioned that fit and don't rub, hopefully with the Brembo brake kit installed all around. So how do I get from here... to there?
The offset alone will not tell you if the wheels are going to clear a brake kit. The contour of the spokes will also have something to do with it. The only OZ wheel that fits is the Superleggera III in 19". I also have the BBS CH to clear in the 18".
i have a staggered setup 18's fronts are 8s backs are 9s. i have stock suspension. will 225/45/18 fit in front and 255/40/18 in the rear without any rubbing or fender rolling?
front offset - 35 rear offset - 38.

I have a set of 18x9 wheels I'd rather not part with. Trouble is, I'd like to use them on a '99 M3 lowered with a Ground Control track kit. I'm also thinking about doing a BBK soon.
EDIT: Offset is 45.
Will 235/40-18 RE-01Rs cause rubbing or other fitment problems?
TIA

Right, which is why I said:
Bug:These things, coupled with the high, low or medium disk setup of the wheels you get make all of the difference
Basically, to expound on what Jim is saying is this: If you have a BBK, and add aftermarket wheels, you will need to know how much clearance you need to clear the calipers. For instance, if your spokes are too close to the actual rotor hat and caliper, you probably will have issues either mounting or moving period. You really need to know more details on the wheels you are pursuing. That is the missing part of the equation....if we know the way the wheels are built, then we can get an idea of what you are up against

want to throw beyern 18" mesh staggered 8.5 front and 9.5 rears on my e36 m3. My question is what size tires could I or should I put on the back? BavAuto recommends 255/35/18 any other sizes I could go? Thanks
Always looking for an E30 M3 shell or roller, PM me.
Hey guys,
Fairly new to the forums. I've been trying to do some reading up on my question and I think I know the answer, but I'd like confirmation before I go out and spend some hard earned money on a set of new wheels and tires.
I'd like to put a set of BBS CH 18" x 8.5" wheels (with 35mm offset) on my car - which I believe should work just fine. What I'm not sure about is the tires that come with them... 235/40 R18s.
Is the 35mm offset OK on my car? Will the tires be too big? Will I get any fender rub?
I'm hoping some of the experts who frequent this forum will weigh in... bump - Jim from TireRack.
Cheers,
DIon
I need help fitting wheels/tires for a 2008 335xi that came stock with 17"s. I really like the BMW 19" 230 style wheels, but while they are a European option for the 335i, they may not fit the 335xi. Anyone have any information on this? Will they fit with spacers? Any details are appreciated
I want to go with wider wheels and see no problems with the fronts. From my research it looks like an 18 x 9.5 with the OEM size 255-35 tire in the rear should be close but clear without any rub issues. Anyone running this combination in the rear? What offset do you have? Thanks in advance.

If the car is the 2007 Z4 coupe the rear tire size would be a 255/40R18 or 275/35R18. A 255/35R18 would be too short.
If I can help let me know.
Jim,
Car came new off the dealer's lot with 18 inch 225/40 and 255/35, this is also the tire size spec by BMW for the sport suspension 2007 Z4 non M car. I'm looking for wheels for the rears that are preferably 9.5" wide and wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have any rub issues. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, would the 255/35 tires be to streched on a 9.5" wheel? Thanks again.
