What kind of bolt pattern does the 335i have?

My parents just picked up an 07 and want a set of rims for winter tires. Will 17's clear the brakes, or will 18's be required? Any idea what kind of offset will work?

255/40/17 BFG on kosei k1's front and rear on bilstein sports with HR OE sport springs.

    i am running 5mm spacers/per side.

-do you think i will clear in the front?
-i know it will clear rear.

currently running 245's front and rear and it looks like there is clearance for more upfront, but i dont know. i can run the tires without spacers up front with the 245's im currently using.

I just picked up a 01 M3. It's lowered an inch and has 19" CH's on it. 8.5" up front with 245/35's and 10" in the rear with 275/30's. The clearances are pretty close already. The rears are stretched a little.

I'd like to stay on 19's, go 8.5 and 9.5 (I don't like the stretched look) and purchase a set of GT3's or GT10's.

Will this be possible? I'm not well versed in offsets, and am not sure what will work on the car. I want something with a little lip to it, and that will show off the caliper/rotor a bit.

    Thanks

Hi Jim...I'm hoping you can help me out. I have an '06 M Roadster, and I would like to put 19 inch wheels, staggered, and use 245/35-19's up front and 275/30-19's on the rear. The problem is that everybody I call about wheels, gives me a completely different set of offsets, so I'm afraid of making an expensive mistake. Can you tell me with any certainty what offsets I need for the above configuration...keeping in mind that I may lower the car MODESTLY in the future? Thanks

Those tires sizes would fit fine on the car. The offset would vary depending on the width of the wheels. You would want to be around 40 mm front and 20 mm rear.
If I can help let me know.

I picked up some SSR rims locally that this guy had on an 80s m5. The bolt pattern is 5X120 but is the offset correct to run on my e46 325xit?

The car is lowered just a hair with H&R Springs.

    Thanks for the help!

The wheels that fit the M5 is not going to fit the 3 Series. The offsets are too low.

They will not fit an E36. The offset is too low.

Would it be possible for you to take picture of your rear? I tried to put this setup (except, mine is 265/30/19 in the rear) and it was really really close (I'm dropped on Tein S-Tech and have Vert). I would like to see relativeness of "close" to judge if I need to put another set of spring or put the OEM back in. I appreciate your help.

hey jim, so i am currently running 18x8.5 et40 on all four corners of my 328is which is lowered on eibach sportlines, stock springs (gonna go bilstein sports soon), and am having slight rubbing problems on the front passenger fender. im running 225/40/18 all around, and was wondering..if I went with new rims (18x8"..offset ??) and 225/35/18 in front, 245/40/18 in rear, would the 35 profile, an 8" rim opposed to 8.5", and different offset help my rubbing up front? also, will i need to roll the rear fender lips for 245/40/18 in rear? thank you, i appreciate your time.

    Fitment question

Hi Jim..I have an '06 M Roadster, for which I just bought Miro Type 346 wheels. The front wheel is 8.5x19, ET35 and the rear is 9.5x19 ET20. I want to get a set of Michelin PS'2's all the way around from Tire Rack. My question, is what size works best with these ET's on my car....245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear OR 235/35-19 front and 265/30-19 rear. Please keep in mind that I will also be lowering the car roughly 1-inch, if that makes any difference. Thank you very much.

The sizes we would recommend would be 245/35R19 at 336.00 and the 275/30R19 at 368.00 each. I do have them in stock and they are ready to go.
If I can help let me know.

Hi Jim...these sizes would work even if I were to use the H&R Coilover kit you sell for the M Roadster? Lowering by an inch or so wouldn't rub?

I put the 19x8.5 and 19x10 SSR GT10's on with 275/30's in the rear. It's tight, but doable. The fronts will rub a little in the fender well if you have the wheel cranked all the way over. The rears haven't rubbed at all. I'll post a pic for you when I get home this evening.

I don't list anything wider than a 18X10 for the rear. With have 18X10 with a 20mm offset and the 18X8 with a 40mm offset.

Hi Jim. One last check, please, on fitment before I order. I have an '06 M Roadster. I have already ordered Miro type 364 wheels. These are 8.5x19 ET35 front, and 9.5x19 ET20 rear. I will order from you Michelin PS2, 245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear. So far, should fit OK. The last part of the equation I have a question about is the H&R Lowering springs Tire Rack sells for the car. They say they lower about one inch. Will this work with these fitments?? I'm no expert, but when I look at the rears, in my unprofessional, seat of the pants sort of way, it seems to me that the new wheels and tires will come OUTWARD about 3/4 of an inch. Lowering about an inch on top of this will work? Please let me know...I am ready to go otherwise, but do NOT want to have to roll fenders. Thanks for all your help so far.

    Jim,

I just got a set of J-Line wheels for my E46 328Ci. They measure 18x9F and 18x10R (19lbs front and 20lbs rear!!!), and come with BFG KDW T/A tires measuring 255/35R18 Front and 265/35R18 Rear. I know it'll rub (Suspension Techniques Variant 1 Coil-Overs) so I'm having the fenders rolled and pulled. My question is, what are the recommended tire sizes for this size of wheel (car came stock with 17x7.5F, 17x8.5R with 225/45R17 F and 245/40R17 R) in order to keep it in-spec? I don't mind the stretched look, and it's actually necessary in the rear (and a bit in the front too), nor do I mind staggered tires (obviously, as the wheels are). The rears need to be as wide as possible with fitting, though 265 is known to be the "widest" you can go on a coupe without a widebody kit. They need to be this wide as the car will have an ESS TSE2 twin screw S/C within a year, along with an LSD and a 6-speed sourced from an '05 330ci. Thanks.

Also, what tires do you recommend for a car that needs its tires stretched a bit, and that are best for preventing rubbing (rounder sidewall, right?)? This car will be daily driven for a while, but it is my track/autocross/show car. I can't run R-compound tires, they have to be street legal, with decent treadwear, and summer tires (not all season), preferably ultra-high performance summer. Thanks.
