I'm hoping to put some 17 inch beyern multi spokes on my e34, with 235/45/17, will I need spacers or anything? Will it affect my speedo or anything? Thanks!

I built my E30 to where I couldn't go any further after doing the S50 swap , and I was just not feeling it . I have since moved on to the big body BMW E38 . Since I have owned this car I have added some BC coils , and cleaned it up a lot . I want to go a lot lower then where she sits now . My wheel specs are 18x8 fronts and 18x9.5 rears . I am wanting a small stretch look . Can you guys tell me any good sizes besides what I am thinking
    205/40-18's for the fronts
    215/35-18's for the rears .
Here is a pic of the car as she sits now and I am rubbing like crazy with the current tires , and she is not nearly low enough for my liking

I have a E32 '94 740IL. Putting 20" Giovanna Kilis rims on it and Nitto tires. What size tire will offer the best performance for this bimmer? Thanks in advance.

What would be the meatyest tires I could run on an e36 with a roll on these rims (F) 17x8.5 ET13*(R) 17x10 ET19?

I'm looking at getting 'winter' tires for the pacific northwest (lots of rain, not much snow), so the Conti DSWs seem to be the preferred choice. I want to have dedicated wheels and tires so I can just swap them between seasons. I figured I would go for a square setup so I can rotate the tires. I was looking at the kosei K1s as the wheel figuring if I was going to unload them later, they seem to be in demand, so I could probably recoup a bunch of my cost.

    I've got an e36 M3.

With all that said, tirerack seems to be suggesting 245/40-17s. a 245 cross section for snow/rain tires seems really wide. Should I just scrap the K1 plan and go with a 7x17 rim and some 225s?

Do you know what hubcentric rings are appropriate for an e36 fitted with hartge splits 17x9 et 38?

It's time for new tires for my 2008 335xi, and if I can get a spare that fits, I'm going to shop the world of non-run-flat tires this time. I've got the sport package, so that's 225/40-18s on the front and 255/35-18's on the rear. What I seek is the thinnest wheel and tire that will fit this car to act as a donut spare and take me to a repair facility. As an alternative, if you could recommend something slightly bigger that would get me back home at regular highway speed for, say, 500 miles, I may want to tolerate the loss of space for that convenience. Thanks in advance!

    Hello everyone,

I have a bmw 335xi coupe 2011 with M-sport package that comes with 18 inch wheels (anyone know the width of those wheels ? 8.5 inch ?)

I want to install winter tire on those wheels, my standard tire diameter are 225-40R18 in front and 255-35r18 at back.
    So knowing that, can i install 215/45 R 18 (Sottozero W240 215/45 R 18 93 V) in front and 245/35R18 (Sottozero W 240. 245/35 R 18 92 V) at back ? If so, without having problem with the DSC ?

    Thanks !

    Alright, I'll have a go.
    87 325e
I'm considering a 15x7 (beyern) or 16x7 (Drag) wheel size.
I've read that if I go 15x7 the needed offset is 25 to avoid the need for spacers. Planning on running a 205 55/15 tire.
Am I right to assume that since the width of the rim is the same on both (7), that the necessary offset would be the same too (25)? (I would run a 205 50/16 tire on the 16x7 if that matters)

I'm also curious to hear input on what different people think about the ride difference between the two sizes assuming the same model tire on each.
    Thanks!

This thread seems to be all asking and no answering, but I'll go for it anyways.
318tI currently wearing 18x8.5 ACS Type 3 wheels with 225/40/18 tires. Fenders are rolled. I've been toying with the idea of finding some Style 5s to go on it instead. Does anybody know what offset I'd need to look for in an 8x17 style 5?

Did you have to roll the fenders?are you lowered/how much? I've been looking at a set of 17x9 with 215/45/17 all the way around but don't know if the 9" will be an issue. I have no problem rolling the fenders but would rather not. Any help with this would be great.

also, the offset says MED/HPO and I'm not sure if that is going to work. Actually, I'm not even sure what the hell that means.

Looking for advice on tire size: 1998 328is, looking to put a set of 17x8 style 5s on but also will soon be dropping 1.5 inches on front and 1 on rear. Wondering what tire size will minimize/eliminate rub . . .

    Help please:

The below is copy and pasted from craigslist:

""So I bought these off Craigslist today for my 08 BMW 335i however they don't fit over the brakes. This is a great winter wheel/tire package. The wheels are 17x8 Sport Edition ST3 with 5-120 bolt pattern. No curb rash. Really nice condition. The tires are General Altimax Arctic staggered size: 205/50/17 (front) and 225/45/17 (rear). There's a good amount of tread remaining as they've seen less than 10k miles.
The gentlemen i purchased these from used them on a 2011 BMW 328i. They will fit most 3 Series (many years) and others. You can look up fitment online. ""

These are my first winter tires and it looks like these will fit my 2011 335d (front are 225/40R/18; Rear are 255/35R/18). Not sure why they didn't fit an '08 335i.. he said they didn't fit over his brake calipers.

Even with very little experience with snow tires I have read a lot about people going from 18's down to 17's for the more narrow tire because of grip.

    Will these work for me?

    Would 17x8 offset 48 with 225/45/17 work on my 1996 z3?

More to come as I have no clue what fits on my car :-/

    Hey,
Since I've found out the awesome options for wheel/tires for my car (10 335xi), I've been looking at getting 18x9/10 F/R wheels but I'm not sure of the best tire combo I should get for that setup. I know the rears can handle quite a bit of meat so I was thinking 235/40 and 265/35 for fronts and rears. I'm not looking for ridiculous meat but I also don't want skinny. I'm also wondering if upgraded springs would help with the wheel gap I'm sure I'd encounter.
    Thanks

    Hello

I've been getting mixed answers on the fitment of the Enkei NT03-M 17x8, 38mm offset.

These should fit a 99 M3 running a square stance 245/40 or 235/40 tire right? I'm being told the offset is to high.

    Cheers

Is it okay to run the 225/45s on the 8.5" rears? This is for winter tires and I have a stock staggered M3

If you check the specifications of any 225/45R17 tire you will find the rim width range to be 7" to 8.5" wide.

They will fit. Both of those tire sizes would benefit from much wider wheels.
