Bassem, The 40mm offset and the 235/35R19 you would not need spacers. They will fit fine on the car. If I can help with anything give me a call.
Thank you,
Thanks Jim. I'll probably be calling you for some other bits soon, plus tires when I decide on the wheels.
Bassem
I have decided on Kumho ECSTA MX tires and im pretty sure on ASA AR1 18" wheels.

is there a downside to staggered wheels

Hello,
I have a 2003 325xi, and I have 205/55HR16 on them (OEM). I want to upgrade to the 17 in wheels, style 73 (20 spoke), and I'm wondering
1) can I do this?
2) what size tire do I need?
Thanks!
bullett
The 17" wheels and tires will work fine on your car. I would recommend a 225/45R17 tire to keep the same height as the OE tires. If I can help with the wheels or tires let me know.
I'm looking to upgrade the wheels to something like the current M3's 19's. What do i have to do to make it work. what size are those wheels, offest all that good stuff? Should i want to go with another wheel of that size, what dimmensions should i look for? I don't mind getting into the fenders or suspension, had to do that for my truck, simple. Please help me out if you can, very new to the BMW modding.
All stock BMW
Jim i have a quick question i plan on buying 17's for my 97 328is sport suspension (17x8 front, 17x9 rears -- ASA ar1) will there be any clearance issues when i lower the car later and now with stock suspension. Also what is the largest tire i can run on those rims when its lower?
I have a 95 M3 (Suspension mods listed). I am in the market of purchasing 18x8 all around. what is the proper offset? What should the overall diameter be? What should the wheel weight be? What size tire will fit on the wheel with out fitment or rubbing issues? I want to use Michelin PS2.

Jim,
Would 17 x 9 with 255 tires all around work? I don't mind rolling the fenders but I don't want to pull them.

stockedm3, You would want to run a 225/40R18 all the way around and the offset is going to be around 40mm. If I can help let me know.
The 17X9 does fit with fenders rolled and more negative camber. The car will probably tramline a lot with that much tire on the front. Most people go with 245/40R17 all the way around.
Thanks Jim. Then I guess I'll get 8.5 with 245 front and 255 rear.Originally Posted by Jim@tirerack

The car comes with 235/40/17. Is it wise to go to 225's. What is the best size for 18x8? Can I stay with 235's or go up in width? How much of the diameter is affected by going 18's. Thanks for the information. Is there going to be any rubbing issues?Originally Posted by Jim@tirerack

Will there be issues for my stock suspension setup with kosei k1s with 245/40 all around? I called tirerack and asked a guy and he said they would rub. I asked if there was anything to remedy that and he said get smaller tires.Originally Posted by Jim@tirerack

You did not call me then. The 245/40R17 fits fine on the car. You might need a little more negative camber but normally that would be it.
If I can help let me know.
stockedm3, The 2365/40R18 is going to be an inch taller than the OE tires on the car. You can use a 235/35R18 on the car without a problem.
If I can help let me know.
Jim i need your help. i have a 1997 328is with sport package and Tein S-Line lowering springs -2.4" front -1.9" back and i would like to put 18"inch wheels on it. Is there an offset that will allow me to fit 265/35/R18 Kumho MX's on the back and 245/40/R18 on the front? would i need rolled fenders? where can i get this done? i am willing to put any rim width at least 8"+ on my car. whatever combination will get the widest tires on my car with this suspension. thanks
also could i add negative camber out back to help them fit?
the reason i mention those tires is because i have a great deal on them as a package. if the 245's up front dont work would 235/40/R18's?
I don't see the 265/35R18 fitting unless you pull the fenders out. The 245/40R18 is also going to be too tall for the 3 Series. I would say if you want to go with a wider tire on the front it would have to be a 245/35R18.
If I can help let me know.
I have a 98 M3 Sedan with stock suspension and stock staggered M-Contours.
Site calls for 225/45R17 F, 245/40R17 R
Will a 235/40R17 F, 255/40R17 R combination fit with or without fender rolling? This is .5 inches taller than recommended in rear and .6 inches shorter in the front. Will this throw off the speed signifigantly or confuse the ABS or ASC?
What about 245/40 all the way around on the staggered wheels?
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 is the tire I am looking at.
Thanks,
Anthony
When I order do I just put Jim in the field that asks for a name?

KDW TT is traditional thread and KDW NT is new tread pattern. Certain sizes are available in both but not all sizes. Go to BFG site if you don't believe it. Michelin owns BFG and Michelin suggests their PS2 or the KDW as the two best tires. I've run thru two sets of the PS2s and they beat all other street tires hands down.

The KDW 2 from tire rack is the NT tread pattern, the sizes I listed are available in this pattern.
