Please bear with me as this has been along time coming for me to ask a question about this. I have been battling hwy violent steering shake for a while now. A short story ensues...please read before comment
I have directional tires.
One WAS bad. So, I had it replaced with a non- directional tire.
NOw it wobbles fom 60-70 on high way. Could the non-directional tire cause this? I have looked for broken belts on all 4
Also, I have had all 4 tires balanced at costco. I don't think it was road force not sure tho.
the tech said the right rear rim was "slightly" bent (he also said another one was but that is not on the notes)
He also said he was able to get it to zero out. Well It still shaked, so I swaped for my spare, which is brand new. It wobbles still. (did not check that tire balance or belt) It is also a non-directional tire tho....
I have new rtabs, rear and front control arms, ball joints, fcabs, tie rods inner and outter.
Sears did an alignment. (no print out)
They did it wrong tho, but I did not know for 50 days. As it drove much better.
Then, when i went back for re align they gave me a gift card and said they can't get it into factory spec.
Stating, the last tech should have never done the alignment, new mngt. the whole 9.
What they did not realize is I had done the Rtab poorly and toe is way off, that the reason I needed re align was the RTAB. I tried to explain to them, but he said i needed rear camber kit that the eccentric bolts were not long enough. So, I have been there a few times and explained that I think my rear toe is so far off its messing with the camber. He said that is unlikely. They are relly cool, will let me in the shop tell me whats up ect.
Ok so there is probably more, but there is a quick synopsis of something that is drivig me crazy, hwy driving.
If I had money to burn Id uy some brand new with brand new tires and go from there.
re-align is coming, but I know alignments often don't fix wobble. I ready for new tires and would like to track this down before I HAVE to have them.
Cheers
Car: 2000 Z3 with original wheels, Style 42 F: 7.5x17 ET 41 , R: 8.5x17 ET 41.
Just bought style 5 8x17 ET 20. What size of tires do you recommend and will I need spacer. Seller also has 7x17 ET 4 for the front for a staggard look. Ned advise if I should use the smaller size and what size of tire.
Thanks
Would 18 x 8.5 with a 19mm offset fit on a 2004 E46 325xi?
I just bought my first bimmer. It's a 2003 325i Wagon. I have the 17" wheel option. I want to put something a little more eye friendly. Will 19" M3 wheels fit?
Hi Jim. This is my first BMW, F30 335i M Sport manual trans, EBII, with 19" 403 wheels. My first tire change is coming up soon, I would like to go with the Michelin Super Sports, non run flats. My question is how much wider can I go over the stock 225/40 fronts, 255/35 rears? Can I fit 30 series on the wheels? I am open to any suggestions you have.
I have a E36 that I want to put a set of 16x8 E38 style 5 wheels on (36111182277).
I currently have 15" style 6s on there(205/60-15). What will it take to get these on my car? Is it a good idea or possible? What tire size should I run?
hello have a e39 528i
car is on H&R sport cup kit so it sit a lot lower than stock.
i have a set of style 42 that wantto install they have milled to fit the hubs.
there 18 stagered set what i need to know is what tire size should i go with?
fronts are 18X8 ET20 rear 18X9.5 ET25
I am going to be buying new tires in about two weeks on my 97 E36 M3 and want to know what size would look better than the stock size. I have staggered 7.5 Front - 225/45ZR17 and 8.5 Rear - 245/40ZR17. That is the normal sizes but the sidewall is too thick. I want a thinner wall tire that will look better but not too low profile. Any advice or opinions would be much appreciated
Confused! Cant decide what rims and tire size to put on my e36 sedan (bone stock).

Hey guys, I have a 1987 325es and want to purchase XXR 531 wheels. I want 16X8 but don't know the offset or tire size I should go with. Should I go with et0 or et20? I want flush/slight poke. My car sits pretty low, I have rolled fenders (not flat role but I can do that if needed). Also is a good tire size 195/50/r16 for 16X8? Please reply or PM me with advice. Thanks! I guess I ask my fitment question here in this 8 year old thread, here goes...
I have a 2010 e90 335d with sport suspension
Considering a set of Fronts 19x8.5 et 32 Rears 19x10 et 25
Fronts are spot on per what TR sells, my question is will the rears fit with a minor fender roll?
Tire size not my primary consideration, will go with Nitto NT01s

I'm quite new to the whole aftermarket wheels and tires scene.
But I have found a set I really like for my 2003 M3 Coupe.
Stock suspension
XXR 521 18x8.5 5-114.3/5-120 [+25mm]
Can I run the same size for rear and front? I've noticed some people have bigger in the rear, but they don't have any bigger in stock.
Then my next question would be, what tires would be the best for these?
Sorry if these are dumb questions haha.
I was told by a few members here to post it up on this thread. Redrilling would be my last option.
Im thinking of using these with adapters (24mm), fronts will be 0 offset and rears 5.
Has anybody ran anything close or same as this?
Front: 19x9.5 +24R tires 255/35/19
Rear: 19x11 +29O tires 275/35/19
Sold the z for an e46 m3 but i have these works still
Has anyone got back to you about this my g35 was just totaled and I'm looking into getting a 335i and I really wanna keep my Volk GTS 19x9.5+17 19x10.5+18 i found 15mm adapters converting 5x120 to 5x114.3 which would be +2 +3

Hello,
I am in the process of ordering wheel and tires for a 09 550i. I am looking to go 20x9.5 Front and 20x11 Rear. The tires are going to be Toyo Proxes T1r 255/30/20 front 295/25/20 rear. I guess I am trying to find the correct offset with the goal of having a flush look with maybe a slight stretch. I cannot find any info for this particular car. I also plan to add KW V3s later on. I would appreciate and help. Thanks.

Hi guys, I need help and I'm sure this has been asked before but I have an E46 coupe M-Sport and want to put a set of 19" Rims on, I am currently looking at a set that came off an E90, they are 8.5J with an offset of 34 all round. Will these rims fit my car without rubbing? I would appreciate anyone's knowledge on this. Thanks.
Hi!!! I need a metal screw type valve stem for my Hamann PG2 18"...Anybody? call me 510-637-6195 Nick B
Apex arc-8's (concave). 17x9 et30 with 245/40's squared. Lowered on coilovers. I assume I need around a 5mm spacer up front, adjustable camber in front and back, as well as some rolling? No pulling needed though yeah?
Thanks.
Great info. I am looking to put some new 17" or 18" wheels on my E36 soon.
