I would say that even the rear is going to rub if the fender lip is not rolled. You may even need more negative camber. On the front a spacer will probably be needed and the offset you have is about what you will need.
The other problem that I can see is the car is going to steer pretty heavy with the 275 on the front. You are probably going to get some tramlining as well.
+1 for the idea behind this thread.
I'd like to run a squared set of Style 37s on an E36 M3 sedan.
Suspension parts are Koni Yellow SA with H&R OE Sport Springs with a .7" and .3" drop in height front and back respectively.
There's three 4 different wheels sizes available in 4 different offsets.
From E39, 8x18 et20 & 9x18 et24
From E38, 8x18 et13 & 9.5x18 et25
What wheel and what tire size will fit best?
Editing bc I got one of the wheel diameters wrong and I know, at least with respect to the E39 options, I'll need rings.

Purchasing a 2001 325Ci early next week. It currently has 16's, could tell you offsets or any other specific information, but it is not lowered. Don't have any plans to lower it but would like to get something with the mesh pattern. Thoughts on fitment and what will work without rub, but be flush with the car?
And before the flames begin, I did try searching this thread first.
I just got a set of wheels in 19x9.5 ET 35 squared set up. Currently they have 215/35/19 on them but I want to get more tire. What would be the max I can run with these wheels? I'm not lowered and I'm still on the stock sport suspension on my 330i.
I have camber/caster kit and fenders are rolled and if need to be I get some more panel beating done. Yes steer will get heavier at slow speeds like parking but caster will fix some of it. Tramlining can also be fixed with correct angles. Here is a M5 with ET20 having GC coils. Just cut and paste. It is from m5board forum.
Photoshoot: Forgestar F14, 850CSi FW/clutch and more...
The stance is perfect but it does look like a very tight fit. I think ET25 is better fit for operation under load if it fits for standard style suspension (looks are not everything). Coils usually take about 20-50mm out of the space to fit a tire/wheel resulting for need to have spacers and less offset. I have read that even 245 was too wide and needed +10 offset for it to fit on front(with some brand of coils). Coils have the longer spring behind the tire/wheel reducing the fit. Standard style has the spring on a collar above the tire/wheel giving more room and more offset. I have also been told that with coils you have more room to fit a tire/wheel (???). Sometimes it is hard to know what to believe on these forums.
I’m about to order custom wheels with custom offset for square fit. I want a strong fit without spacers. I want to be able to rotate my wheels to have better tire life from my expensive tires. I need to be sure to get the right offset the first time because I don’t have any trust for spacers under spirited drive. The car will have plenty more power than standard 540(+450hp). After I get the wheels I get some Michelin’s from you. So I need an expert that knows the right offset.
Ok now i strongly believe this is not the place for this question, but i shall ask.
I currently have a '98 323is that is sitting on four 18" wheels style 184.
I plainly dont like them on the vehicle. looks nice but i feel they are too big for my taste.
Looking to switch out, now i want the originals but ive seen some nice wheels for sale on this thread, and would be interested. Only problem is the terms (I.e. Staggered, offset, bore, etc.) . Basically i dont know my wheels for squat. I would love help understanding, whether it'd be a link or an actual explanation, but my question is, do i even need to know all that? or can i get by which just knowing the wheel diameter/radius i want?
tldr: what would be the optimal tire/wheel size for a 98' 323is?
Please and Thank You.
One question hoping to get a response
How much rolling is required to fit a 245 40 17 under the rear of my 95 m3?
PO had this setup on the car, and there is a nice deep groove running around the entire sidewall of the tire, on each side of the car. I want to put the same size tire under there, and Im sure I need a roll, but how much is required?
I know offset has a lot to do with this, and I dont know what the offset is. They are stock DS2's though so nothing extreme
Interesting. I'd say it's due to wheel figment, because 245 40 17 is the stock rear tire size for 96-99 M3s. I've also had that size on an E36 328i, with Fikse FM-5s in M3 fitment (that is, proper width and offset). Never had a single rub...
Looks like you don't have enough posts to PM yet... If you give me an email, I can try to help you decipher this.

Will a 18x9.5 inch rim fit all the way around a 2004 E46 325xi?
Craigger686, They are not going to fit without some work on the front and rear. I would look at other wheels.

Lints,
The 245/40R17 should fit fine. You will need a wider wheel than stock though.
I was looking at some 18x9 ET20 wheels to replace the stock 16x8 wheels that came on my E38 740 the tires i've been running are the stock 235/60/R16 size. What would be a good size tire to run? Thanks for any advice

I just picked up a 540i that has bad rims/ worn tires. I have a set of 19" Hyperblack 8.5 inch rims 72.56 center bore ET40 with 265/35 tires.
My plan is to get H&R 20mm hub adapter/ spacers 74.1 to 72.65 center bore. Which will bring the offset all around to et20
Looks like everyone runs 9-10 inch rims on the rear for e39s... Will they fit okay? If so how will they look? Anyone suggest not to put 8.5's all around on a e39.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks
Anyone?
Just sharing some info, on a 99 M3 2dr with Bilstein Sport (new style, low spring perch) and Eibach pro kit.
FRONT
17x8.5 +40 245/40R17, 10mm spacer, NO rub
REAR
17x8.5 +40 245/40R17, 5mm spacer, 15mm upper spring pad (330xi), slight rub on bumps (looking into a solution now).
The fronts are very forgiving as long as you can clear the Bilstein perch. With 245 fronts you will probably need at least 5mm spacer.
e36
18x9.5 +34 all the way around...with a 225 or 235 tire
will it fit without fender work/roll?
I am currently running Michelin PS all season 245/40/r17's on my 8.5 wide apex wheels that rub in really extreme conditions on the top edge of the outer side wall (big bumps in a straight line mostly). I'm lowered also H&R race and running 12 mm wheel spacers.
I just ordered 235/45 that will arrive on Tuesday. Will these rub? They are only .2 inches taller but its so close already. Will the skinnier tire offset the height in this situation?

I've got E36 lowered
What tyre spec should I go with R17/8j/ET20 front and R17/9J/ET22 rear wheels ?
Im looking to get a set of tires for my 1982 e21, and im just looking for some input on possibly getting a different size rim before I commit to a purchase. With the current size 180-70-13, I feel i am getting too much roll in my sidewall. Any clue on a stiffer tire i could possibly run, or different possible rim sizes i should look into?
