Hello, currently deployed and just had the wifey buy a 2008 328I with the sport package. We are stationed in Germany and it's very convenient to have two sets of rims. The stock OEM will run the winter tires and I'm interested in the gloss black Breyton gts for some all season tires. I'm interested in you're recommendations. I was thinking about getting either the 19" or 18". Right now I'm of the mindset that the 18" will look really nice and still provide a nice ride when we're traveling. I'm not sure what type of width or offset is best for this car. Just hoping someone will be able to guide me in the right direction.

Hi Jim, I was also looking at the Enkei Raijin since it's going to be a while before Tire Rack has the Breyton in the 18 x 8.5 I believe. I think the Raijin is a nice wheel too and I like the way it looks in a photo I saw when I googled "2008 BMW 328I + Enkei Raijin". It was a a BMW that is Blue Water Metallic in color. Sorry I could'nt post the link or photo.
Specs are:
18 x 8.5 ET38 in Front on 235/40/18 Conti DWs
18 x 9.5 ET35 in Rear on 265/35/18 Conti DWs

Can I replicate that setup? I'm not familiar with the offsets and requesting the same through Tire Rack. Is it going to be easier to communicate by phone sometime when I get back from my deployment?

With the wheels in black and the DWS tires the total would be 1,806.00 before shipping. You would add about 200.00 to the total for the sensors and about 100.00 shipping total. If I can help let me know.

Can you give me a recommendation on a set of Run Flat Tires?

There are no run flat tires in the 235/40R18.

Hi Guys,
My current 205/50r15 tires are spent, and I have some 195/65r15 tires in my garage from a previous car (still 40% tread left, and only 2 years old). These are approximately 7% oversized (overall diameter). browsing some forums people are running this slightly oversized tire. Thoughts?

I know they're over-sized, So the speedo will report a slower than actual speed (by~7%). Just wondering if I can make use of these tires, or if I should just go get some new 205/55 (want a bit more sidewall as the 50's were harsh on the street)

The 195/65R15 is way too tall for the car. I would just look for a different set of tires. Compared to the 205/50R15 they are 2" taller.

New to forums and BMW,s also...my wife just bought a 2010 328i xdrive sedan.it has 205/55/16's and was looking thru these threads.Seems that many are sour on 19" wheels so I have decided on 18x8 TSW donington with square setup. My questions are: can I use 235/40 instead of 225's without rubbing or speedo problems. Want a little more meat to fill up well. And does spacers make the wheels look fuller in the well? And are there any pics out there with this setup on a BMW similar to mine?

You can use the 235/40R18 but the speedometer will be showing a little slower than you are actually going. If I can help let me know.

You can google images for those wheels installed. Spacers will stick them out but just buy wider wheels.

I don't think the donington comes wider than 8" on an 18" wheel.
The offset is 32...not sure if that moves them out further or not.

Jim I have a question. Im building a 1987 325e and need a good wheel tire set up for 1.5 in lowering. I want a filled out look and spacers and pulling fenders is not really a problem. Any help will be much appreciated.

The TR Motosport C1 15X8 would be the best fitment. They only weigh 14.8 lbs and they are priced at 104.00 each. You could run either a 225/50R15 or a race tire in the 225/45R15. I have the Eibach Pro Kit that drops the car 1.6 front and 1.4 rear at 236.00 for the set.

The 205/50R15 will be stretched on the 15X8 and the 225 will fill up the wheel well better.

A specific question would be. What about the borbet type A's

Or a wheel like that. I like a wheel that isn't too "transparent" I'm not saying the borbet is specifically what I want. Just like the way the spokes fill out the wheel.

Or possibly the enkei 92. Will they fit? Cause some wheels say they are 4x100 but the pics show them having 5 lug patterns.

The Type A would look good on the car. It has the wider spokes and a 2" lip. We only have the one picture but the center cap does cover the lugs so you can not see if it is a 4 lug or 5 lug wheel.

I want something with a lip like that but in a 15x8. If you have anything else you could suggest such as spacers and how low to go (I really want the fenders filled out) that would be much appreciated.

I picked up some 18" ACS Type 3 2pc Racing with new Pilot Super Sports for my touring the other day on a whim. They are chromed barrels and painted centers. The front fitment is an issue and one of the rears is losing air. I'm wondering if I should bother with them or just move on. Sizes are:

Front 8.5" ET43 w/245-40-18
Rear 9.5" ET21.5 w/275-35-18

The seller had them mounted on his E39 M5. The fronts came with the biggest spacers I've ever seen (43mm I think). He was running something like 25mm spacers in back too, but I'm thinking that I can run the rears without spacers though. Correct? As for the front, I'm also thinking that a 25mm spacer for the 8.5" ET43 in front would get me in the ballpark fitment-wise. Is this about right?

One of the rears is losing air (SURPRISE!) and the tire has some cutting on the shoulder from rubbing on his fender (I'm guessing a result of the 25mm rear spacers). Is a wheel that won't hold air that hard to diagnose/fix? These things look brand new, and I don't detect any repairs so I'm wondering what the deal is.

Also, ACS has those rings to use their 82mm centerbore wheels on the E39 74.1mm hubs. Would I still need to use these in conjunction with the spacers? Or are there spacers available that negate the need to use the ACS adapters?

I love the wheels, but I'm just wondering if they are a bigger PITA than they are worth. Am I overreacting to fitment and air-holding issues???

You have to find out where they are leaking from. It could be a valve stem, seals on the wheels or something as simple as a hole in the tire. You do need the rings to make the wheels hub centric. Without them you are probably going to have a vibration.

Hi Jim... What would you recommend as far as sizes go for an all around track/auto-x wheel tire combo for an E36? This would will be a dedicated track set up. Handling/spool up is probably more important than top speed. Cost of race tires is a factor as well.

The best set up is a 17X8.5 wheel with a 245/40R17 all the way around. This is a tried and true set up on the E36. Take a look at the Kosei K1 Racing at 175.00 and tire like the Kumho V710.

Here is a nut to crack.)) I want to fit 275/30-19’s square on to 10” wheel to suit e39 540i. I have standard style suspension. Eibach springs and bars with Koni FSD’s (30-40mm lower than standard). Rear has adjustments from factory, front has SPC (Eibach) camber adjustment (and caster). ET25 fits rear just fine and to front I hope it does too. I’m not worried about the panels on front because I do know that it will rub a little but that is easy fix. Only thing that I’m worried is the clearance to front suspension. This has been done before but I can’t find the offset that fits all four corners and dealers are too scared to but their word to extreme fits. ET20 fits too and looks really good, maybe little too aggressive for me. I like to have that extra 5mm clearance.
So anyone have this fit? Need an offset that works for sure.
