    E46 wheels on an E36 328is

    I am looking to buy a set of 16x7 style 45 alloys from a 99-00 E46. I have a 1998 E36 with 15'' wheels. Will the 16's fit?

    Thanks

    Hey guys,

    I have a 2002 3-Series (the 320i) and i am looking to throw some winter tires/rims on.

I have a set of winter steelies/tires (5-bolt pattern, 205/65/15) from Canadian tire that did fit on my old 2000GrandAm, would these fit the BMW? The BMW dealer told me there might be an issue with the bolt pattern but I thought that the winter rims are pretty generic aren't they?

    Thanks in advance,
Blue '02 320i, Rims, otherwise bone-stock and proud of it!

    E46 wheels on an E36 328is

Thanks for the conformation Jim. Just found out that they come with 205-55/16 RE950's. They will probably last a year. Can I put 225-50/16 tire on these 16x7 wheels? If not what is the widest size I can have?

    Thanks

    Geoff

The wheels off the Grand Am will not fit the BMW.

    Quick and easy:

Can a 1997 M3 sedan run 17x7.5 with 225/45/17 all the way around?

That would fit no problem. You can even run the 235/40R17 all the way around.
If I can help let me know.

    Jim,

A couple questions. First of all, do you carry Hamann at all? I like their HM2s 18x8.5.

Secondly, I found M5 replica rims that I really like. Will these fit at all with a fender roll?

    18x9.5 et24mm

I was going to run these wheels are the way around, not staggered. I know they wouldn't rub on the inside but I wanted to make sure they'd stay inside the wheel well on the outside. I'd probably run 255/35/18s to flatten the tire a little more on the rim...

    TIA Jim

I have a few questions about my 01 M3. I'm a newer BMW owner and really enjoy the quality! Oh and yeah.... you'll see I hardly post (lurk).

I put my car up on a lift today to measure the tires, and check the spring model numbers, look to see if there was a camber kit installed (nope), etc. I bought my car and the original owner put on H&R 29364 springs. I had some concerns when buying just any stock E46 M3 rims with snow tires for winter. The original owner happened to leave the original shocks and struts, which I may replace at some point... the shocks seem pretty much cashed out. I may consider coilovers, maybe someone could provide some advice here (I wouldn't do this until spring).

Currently the car has the 18" 2 piece BBS wheels, I should have measured the width of them while I had the car up :-\. The tire sizes on the front are 245/40/18 and the rears are 285/35/18, Goodyear 93Y and 97Y respectively. I measured the front tires with a circumference at 81", diameter 25", and 9-1/2" wide. The rears measured up to circumference at 81.5", diamter 25-1/2", and 11" wide. It appears that the 285's rub a bit, but nothing too bad. What size of stock rims/tires can I put on without worrying about rubbing?

The 18X9.5 ET24 will not work without some fender modification. The offset is the problem. I don not carry the M5 or the Haman wheels. Sorry
If I can help let me know

Yeah I thought that et24 offset would be an issue, but I love those rims when they have a fat lip! About how much do you estimate the rims would go beyond the fender? A fender roll wouldn't work then either? I was thinking about doing the Reiger widebody fenders anyways but I didn't know if those would be enough..

Thanks Jim. I may take you up on those ASA AR1s if this does not work out for me.

    I hope someone sees this....

    will a staggered setup of 18x8.5 front with a 35 offset, and a 18x9.5 rear with a 45 offset fit my (e36) 328is?

If so what kind of tire setup should i go with?

If not... give me the best staggered setup numbers possible...

    thanks for any feedback...

    e39 540 snow tires/wheels on e60?

Currently my father has a 540i with 225/55 16" snowtires, the recommended size by tirerack. The lease is up soon and he is considering a e60 530xi wagon and he's wondering if these wheels will fit on it. Tirerack's website recommends 17 inch wheels, but I don't think 16's would be too small for the 530, its brakes can't be bigger than a 540s. Would the offset be a problem? Thanks for any insight.

    Have: Breyton Inspiration 17"

8.5" width? (Got that from a retailer website.)

What's the narrowest tire I can fit to this rim for winter driving?

    Jim?

I searched here and on tirerack.com for an answer ...

Also, anybody know if there are steel wheels that will fit an e39? I've heard they are best for mounting snow tires.

    I have two options here:
    Code:
18"x8" rims with 38 mm offset. (all 4 wheels)
    Code:
18"x8" rims with 35 mm offset. (all 4 wheels)
Will these both fit? If so, what tire sizes would you recommend for each rim? These are for a 98 328is.

    Thanks!

I might be buying a set of 18" x 8" style 32 replicas with 20mm offset for my e28. Tires are 235/40/18 Fuzion ZRis. My e28 is lowered roughly 1.25" on Bav Auto springs/Koni shocks. Would I be rubbing at all? Thanks.

    need help with 18x9 set-up

    I am installing 18x9 all around on a 2000 e46 323I , and the wheels have a 45mm offset.

I am installing 18x9 wheels, on 225/40/18 tires up front, and I was thing about using 245/35/18 out back . The wheels i am installing are 18x9 ADR kasai wheels. The wheels are only about 19.3 lbs, and I got them super cheap....I would hate to have to down size to a small more expensive wheel.

Does anyone have any advice for this set-up. I hope the wheels don't rub..

    need feedback..... .

Thought I'd add this, since it seems to be asked alot. 17x8.5 with 245/40's will fit w/o spacers. I'm on stock suspension.

I seem to have a problem - can anyone recognize these wheels? I fear these may be e39 wheels and I want to fit them to my e36. These are said to be stock 16
If these are indeed e39, what would be the et and can I use them without risk of rubing on my fenders? The seller claims he had them on his 328 e36 but he claims they are supposed to fit e39 as well.
    HELP!!!

    Jim,

I am looking to buy a set of 18" M5 replicas for my e36, they are 18 x 8 and have a 35mm offset, my suspension setup is koni shocks and an Eibach pro-kit...if I were to use these rims with a set of 245/40/18 tires would I have any rubbing issues....or would you just recommend going with a 17" wheel setup because of the suspension I have?

    Thanks

The 35mm offset is going yo be tight. You would need to stay on the narrow side with tires and maybe run more negative camber.

theseeker411, With that tire I would think you would have a rubbing problem.
