Hey Jim. I have stock M contours staggered (7.5 front, 8.5 rear). I am interested in running the stock tire sizes with something like a new pair of Nexen 3000's. My question is whats the widest spacer I can use for front and rear if I want to widen the stance with this setup. I have heard a stock bimmer can typically go 15-20mm without issues but just wanted to be sure since the rears are wider than fronts etc and I go off the deep end and spend all this money.
Thanks again! =)
dist1nCT,
BMW recommends a 225/45R17 for the winter. I have wheels that start at 99.00 each for the 17". This would be much better for the winter than the 18". They will be less likely to get damaged and they are going to give you better grip.
If I can help let me know.
hide1,
With the 225/45R17 and 255/40R17 I am not sure you are going to need a spacer. I really don't think a 20mm spacer is going to work. Just put the wheels on the car and see how much room you have to the fender.
If I can help let me know.
Jim
I have a 07 Z4 M Coupe and I am looking at these wheels and tires. I'm not sure if they will fit without spacers or problems. help would be great!!!

If you go through life fearful of unforeseen events, you'd never get out of bed. Cars must be driven. It's why they were built. Having a sportscar or supercar in you garage and not driving it is like having Megan Fox as a wife and sleeping on the couch.
That package would be fine. I have everything in stock and ready to go at this time. If I can help just let me know.
have you heard any reviews of the MT1 wheels? they are super light and thin. Thoughts on durability/ wear?

They are Japan JWL approved and will meet or exceed BMW OE strength and durability. The wheels are heat treated for added strength . If I can help just let me know.
Hey Jim,
If I was looking into 19" Breyton Race GT Rims, are these adequate rims for my car? Would they fit without issues? Also, what would you recommend for tires? Thanks.
EDIT:Would Continental ExtremeContact DWS Tires work? Thanks

dist1nCT,
The Race GT will fit fine. They have a 19X8.5 and or a 19X9.5 for the rear. I currently only have 3 19X8.5 wheels in stock and am waiting for more to come in. The DWS is going to give you an all season tire with good handling and longer life.
If I can help let me know.
I'm looking at some exceptionally low cost stock wheels - 17x8.5 style 105's - et50 all the way around
how is fitment going to be on an e36 m3? ideally i'd like to run 245/40/17 star specs all the way around. my math suggests I need a 20mm front spacer and probably a 10mm rear spacer. Have I done my math correctly for fitment?
alternatively when is tirerack expecting stock of the 17x8.5 kosei k1's in bmw fitment? I like the lightweight they offer but the long lead time and the higher price than the stock wheels (~210 shipped brand new from bmw for all 4) is a consideration to me.
thanks
I don't think you are going to have enough room in the wheel well to run a 17X8.5 and a 20mm spacer. The K1 is actually due into us on 12/20.
If I can help let me know.
Hi Jim:
Any chance that staggered 18" ASA AR2's will be available for my car?
Also, I'm considering a staggered set of 18" BMW Style 42 wheels which have +20 F and +24 R offsets. Is it correct that I'll need 15mm spacers in the rear, and do you think the +20 will work in front? Am I correct in thinking the front wheels will stick out about 3/4" more than the original Roadstars?
My car has H+R springs....
And, finally, can you please recommend tire sizes for 18" wheels, either ASA or the style 42's.
Thanks!!
Best,
Paul

As you know, the stock Z3 M Coupe 17" wheels are +41 F and +9 R offset. These offsets limit wheel options, of course. I really like the 18" AR2's but they're not offered for my car.
I know the AR1's 18" staggered set up will work fine, probably as a direct fit, or maybe with a 10mm rear spacer, but wondered about the viability of running an 18" x 8 front wheel which has a +20 offset and an 18x9 rear offset of +24. Specifically the BMW Style 42 Cross-spoke. I confess to not completely understanding "offsets" and spacers. I don't know how much I can deviate from the front +41 offset before the front tires rub or stick out too far.
Thanks for your help.
Paul

The AR2 just does not have an application that will work on the car as they do not make a wider rear wheel. Everything we do carry to fit is listed on the web site. If I can help just let me know. Below is a link that explains offset.

Jim can you help me understand if this is a good idea? Since the wheels are not from TR I understand if you can't.
2008 3.0si Coupe (E86) Prem Pkg / Sport Pkg Staggered
Current Wheels - Front - LA wheel, star spoke 203 P/N 3611671162 - 81/2Jx18 ET:47
Rear - BMW LA wheel, star spoke 203 P/N 3611671161 - 81/2Jx18.5 ET:50
Thinking about replacing the OEM rims with these. BWM Style 42 Cross Spoke - Front 18x8 ET:20 / Rear 18x9 ET:24. BBS manfactured for BWM. Spoke with BBS today, but they could not determine it there would not be clearance issues. Have loved these 2 piece for years.

There is a large difference in offset, (27mm Front / 26mm Rear), as well as 1/2" greater width in rear, so is this something that would work and that I should consider doing? Yes/No, Pro's / Con's, greatly appreciated.
Car is a 1999 M Coupe. Factory front offset is +41. How many mm less offset is viable? I'm trying to get a sense of how far I can stray from stock set up in the front by going with a lower number before wheel either rubs the fender or tire sticks out too far.
Thank you!

Thinking of buying a set of x5 wheels that are all 17.5 wide to use as track wheel/tires for my M3. Any idea if the tires will fit on these wheels? Thanks in advance to all the yodas out there for the feedback!
They may fit but they are beyond the tire mfg's recommendation. I would stay with a 235/40R17.
If I can help with the tires let me know.
Can someone advise if 275x40 - 17 Yokohama S Drive tires will fit to rear roadstar wheels on a 2002 M roadster?
Thanks Brian
They will fit on the wheel but you could have some rubbing. You would be safer with the 265/40R17. If I can help let me know.
Thanks Jim, I was looking for a 265 but could not find a yoko listing in the S drive is there such a tire?
Brian
Unfortunately they do not make that tire in that size. I just think that with the 275/40R17 being wider and taller you are going to have rubbing issues.
