Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 vs RE760 Sport?
I searched and didn't find any data here on these new tires from Firestone called Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (FFI5):
Tirerack: Firestone Firehawk Indy 500
This tire is supposed to be a follow on to the Bridgestone RE760 Sport. (Bridgestone owns Firestone) They speak of enhanced wet traction (that i don't care much about). The Bridgestone is a solid tire. Looks like they're made in the same factory in Indonesia.
Saw a very brief "thumbs up" approval of the grip level of the tire on Grassroots Motorsports site, but otherwise I can't find anything that compares the ride, noise levels, steering response and longevity of the FFI5. Anybody have any experience with this tire?
Making it more difficult, an older discontinued all-season tire from Firestone has the same name, and they still make the Firestone Firehawk "wide oval" Indy 500, so your search must be very specific when looking for the new Ultra High Performance Summer FFI5.
Tirerack, have you driven these!?
Nice prices!
