Jim,
One more question. You said around 40mm. I found these Sizes: 18" x 8" ET 35 & 18x9.5" The ET is the offset? If that's the case, is 35 still too low?
Still a relative noobie. I am looking to upgrade to 18's on my 2000 328CI. I saw some rims online that I'm looking to get.
Style 71
18x8 47mm offset in front
18x8.5 50mm offset in rear
Will those fit on my car?
Also, I would need to get tires for them. I've heard 225/40/18 for the fronts and 255/35/18 on the rears. Does that sound right?
Sorry for the basic question, but thought I'd try my question on this thread.
Thanks in advance.
The tire sizes you mention would be correct but a 50mm offset may need a spacer to kick the wheel out a little.
If I can help let me know.
Okay Jim help me out here:
18x9 front
18x9.5 rear
225/40 is too stretched out front and 245/35 is too stretched out back....i was thinking
235/40 out front and 255/35 out back, is that possible?

[Fitment on a M coupe]
Will a 18x9.5 ET25 fit a 99 M Coupe rear if I add a 15mm spacer? It normally has a 8mm offset. Thanks for helping a newb understand this offset stuff.

Neither of the sizes are stretched on those wheels. You are within spec on all of those tires. I think the tire sizes you list may work but you may have to roll the fender lips as well. I do know that the 225/40R18 and 245/35R18 will fit with no modifications.
If I can help let me know.
Cozog, I think the wheels will work even without the spacer. I would think at the most a 10mm spacer would be all you would need and you could still be hubcentric in a 5mm spacer.
If I can help let me know.
Jim,
Found something I'm really digging. Looking to put the Maya STM 19's. Can I go with a 19 x 9 or 9.5 in the rear? What tires size should I go with?
Would a 255/35 be a better bet than a 265/30 on a 19x9.5 rear wheel ?
38 offset
This is on a E36 325i

I just bought some 18x8.5's +41 with 235/40/18's. I saw pics of them mounted on an E36, but can't get them to fit on mine. I have a '97 M3 Sedan, stock springs, and the new Bilsteins. I even tried mounting them w/some make shift spacers just to see if it would fit and it didn't. I spaced them out ~15mm. The problem I'm having is that they are hitting the front strut assembly. How are you guys w/18's on E36's getting them to fit w/out contact?

I think the problem may be the 235/40R18 size. These are taller than the OE tires by 1/2" and may be causing the rub at the top. If you go with the 225/40R18 you should be fine.
At ~$200/tire, I don't know if I wanna spend that much....but do you think a 245/35/18 would work instead of the 225/40/18? I really would like to have a tire that isn't stretched on the wheel. I'm also asking cause I'm afraid if I buy the tires and they don't fit....I'll really be f!cked. Thanks again.
I've got an '89 325is I want to AutoX and I want to put the widest wheels I can get away with underneath the car (which will be lowered). I've been looking and it seems that 15x7 is the way to go for an E30. This wheel sounds like the best choice short of dropping a small fortune on SSRs. My question then is this: what's the fattest tire I can put on there? Falken should have a 225/50R15 version of the RT-615 by the end of the year and I was hoping that would fit on a 7in wide wheel. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey Jim. Thanks for all the advice. In this era of 'Buy first, ask questions later,' I went ahead and bought those rims:
18x8 47mm offset in front
18x8.5 50mm offset in rear
Now, call me neurotic, but these rims came off a 330ci and I have a 2000 328ci. On your website, it says that the 2000 328ci will only fit 225/40/18f and 245/35/18r. But the 2001 330ci that these rims came from will fit 225/40/18f and 255/35/18r.
Will the 245/35/18 on the rears fit these rims that are supposedly for 255/35/18? Or does it not matter?
Sorry for asking an amateur question, but before I go ahead and shell out $800-$1k on rubber, I'd just like to have the peace of mind!!
I'll be contacting you about tires.
Jim,
This is for a buddies 97 740i. Looking at the Breyton Spirit black w/polished lip. Any fitment problems or needing use of spacers if we go with the 19x9, 18 mm offset front with 245/40/19 and 19x9.5, 18 mm offset rear with 275/35/19?
98 Nissan Altima 14.3@94mph
wut would fit on my 1993 320i
bolt pattern?
wut offsett can i have?
The 19" stagger will fit with the 245/40R19 and 275/35R19. You may need to roll the rear fender lips though.
If I can help let me know.
I'm not 100% sure of my offset, as I've been told quite a few but basically the car is a 1988 BMW 320 E30.
Has 14" Bottlecaps which I measured to have roughly a 35mm offset.
Now im wondering whether or not the following description of a mag would work on my car.
17x7 Mag
4x100 offset (same as e30)
38mm offset. (can use 3mm spacers can I not)
they are fantastic looking mags, so would be keen to try and make this work if atall possible.
Cheers Andy.

I just got some Ronal ls rims and need new tires for them. The car (e30 325is) is a daily driver (no track days) but I like to drive "spirited". good wet/dry traction and decent tread life. Looking at the +/-100$ range thanks for the recomendations.
Here is a short list of possibilities
Falken Ziex ZE-512
BF Goodrich g-Force Sport
Yokohama AVS ES-100
Kumho Ecsta 711
Nitto NT 450 extreme performance
Toyo Proxes 4
Anyone with experience with any of these?
Thanks in advance

Picked up a 95 325iC and discovered that 2 of the standard 10 spoke (5x2) OEM wheels have flat spots on the outer part of the rim. So I am looking to replace wheels but am funding challenged. So I am keeping my eye on eBay and I found a set of 4 16x7 BMW OEM wheels with the stock 46 mm offsets. Here is the description (I also attached a picture):
SIZE: 16 X 7 J WITH A 46 OFFSET
LUG PATTERN: 5 ON 4 3/4
CONDITION: PLEASE REVIEW PHOTOS
WHAT THEY WILL FIT: SHOULD FIT ALL BMW 3 SERIES BUT CHECK WITH DEALER
So first, what are the wheels called, are they maybe from a Z3 and would they fit my E36?. Any help here would be great and thanks in advance!!

what will fit with rolling fenders and custom wheels in either V710s or A3SO5:
245 40 17
285 30 18
265 45 16
And if one of these will fit what wheel width and offset?
