Hi folks,
I am loving my new-to-me 1996 E36 BMW 318ti. It has original sized 185/65r15 tires and appears to have all stock running gear. A full set of 16x7 BMW model 45 wheels came my way, and I'd really like to fit them with 205/60r16 tires to get a little taller gearing and to fill out the wheel wells a little more fully. I understand that the extra 1.2" height would change my speedo accuracy, which I can live with. The softer slow speed acceleration doesn't bother me either. I'd love to have a few hundred rpm shaved off at highway speeds without swapping out the rear end, so the taller tires are appealing. I am hoping that the extra height of these will fit my car just fine without rubbing anything. If anybody has experience with this size and these cars I'd love to hear about it. Thanks for reading, Jon
You may rub the front fender liner when turning, that's about it.

A roll is for metal (ie fender lips). The liner is the plastic piece on the inside. You might be able to warm up the plastic and indent it where you may rub, just be careful of getting it too hot and melting a hole into it.
