bmw e30 325 rwd or awd

I am considering geting an e30

the problem i am facing is - i am not sure whether i should go for the awd or rwd option.

i am thinking of putting the M inline six in it - so i am not sure how much tracktion problems i will have and whether a awd option is something interesting.

anyways the purchase is not imediate - so i ll need a few pointers - i am somewhat familiar with BMWs but vws have been my bread and butter up till now so i am somewhat of a noob.

RWD without a doubt. The AWD system isn't bad it's just nothing to brag about. Also RWD is the only thing i'd have with an M motor in it

AWD suspension is totally different than the RWD and there are not really any mods because of different angled strut towers, offsets, etc. The RWD is the way to go unless you're keeping the car stock AND living in the North.

Yea, their AWD, from what I've seen, is very very utilitarian. It was designed to get you through the crappiest conditions found on normal roads, and I'm sure it does it pretty well, but from what I've heard, it's by no means "sporty".
