    Question Installing M5 suspensions on a 97 528i???

    GUYS,

I was wondering what else would I have to buy in order to properly install the shocks and springs from a 2002 M5 on my 1997 528i?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dannye

thats it, you've got it all. someone may come in here and warn you about putting the higher spring rated spring on your car though, saying it will raise the car a bit.

Will it really raise the car? or that's what some people say/think?

I'm thinking about getting these parts:

    Front Shocks - 82 4904 557 218, 31.31 - 2 229 612 / M5 3913M

    Rear Shocks - 81 4903 557 252, 33.5 - 2 229 126 / M5 H3911M

yes it probably will. The m5 is heavier then a normal 5 series, especially a 528, i think there's something about the perches too but i could just be making that up, i forget.... I also think that the actual suspension components weigh more becuase they have the electronic adjustablility built into them, but again i could be wrong, do a search.

What would you guys recommend? I honestly need suspensions badly and I was looking for something nice and confortable yet nice and sporty at the same time... Koni adjustable with H&R sports springs maybe?

Anyways, Let me know what would be best.

    Thanks again,

    Dannye

    528 curb weight = 3,450 lb
    M5 curb weight = 4,024 lb

i'd say 600 lbs is a very significant difference. yes, it will raise the car.

i would get koni adj with whatever spring you want. you can adjust the konis for whatever ride you want, i can take mine to almost softer than stock ride or stiff enough to keep up with m3's in the twisties

If it wasn't because I need my suspensions installed by next week, I would of had done business with you. Either way... send me a pm and let me know how much you would actually want for the setup.... is your car a 528 or a 540?
