Canada, Tires: duty, brokerage, taxes, blah, blah, etc.

Looking at ordering 225/45/17 and 265/40/17's potenza S03's from the states (about $782.00 USD). Trying to calculate cost to door. Has anyone done this recently? How much did you get nailed by the bas**rds on duty, brokerage, taxes, etc?

I was told shipping was $75 USD.

I would suggest buying them here if you can. Even call to the West Coast if you have to. Canadian dealers get special pricing and better shipping costs. But a good factror to use would be about 1.8 for taxes, duty and brokerage. That shipping number sounds about right - depends on the weight though.

I agree. Most anything you buy in the US, multiply by two or so. Lousy Canadian dollar.
