    go try it!

I think the Bimmer would take it.

Of course, a lot depends on the driver. And not just on his skills. A lot depends on how hard the driver is willing to push his car (drop the clutch, smoke the rears, etc.).

Go out and try it somewhere safe. That's what friends and fast cars are for.

    I've raced a 2001 Celica GTS before...they're no competition. I have a 92 325is with chip/exhaust/intake. you'll be able to whoop him.

I really don't understand why the celica even has 6th gear. I understand 6 speeds in Euro M3's but not teeny weeny celicas.

0-60 technique, while we're on the subject

    Speaking of which:

What's the preferred technique? I always feel like first gear is so short that I have to shift at 10mph and can't keep up speed unless I keep my foot down on the gas and dump the clutch into second (which I don't do because I like my clutch). Anyone else frustrated with the shortness and clunkiness of first gear?

The only embarisment I have had is trying to race a new Nisan Maxima.
If I loose to an Infinity Q45 or Lexis GS400 I am proud for them since we only have 6 cylinders yet we get 27mpg and can beat them arround the corner.

I also expect to get beat by almost any motorcycle. :

    Celica... Pfhuh!! Not a chance.:o

You got beat by a maxima? Do you have any mods done to your car?

How would a 325IS hold up to a '98 Ford Mustang non-GT? I think it has like a 4.2 liter engine, my friend says he is going to smoke my ass, but everytime I say I will race him he comes up with an excuse(Thank you for catching my mistake, I am not to proficient at typing or spelling).

If it is the Mustang V6, you should be able to take him, although I think they have nearly 200 hp, so I wouldn't brag about it before it happens.

If it's the GT, stay parked.

By the way, it's "excuse", not "accuse".

I know, pretty sad huh? Well I wasn't being totally aggressive so maybe he got lucky. :p

No mods yet. Although my ECIS might show up tomorrow. Then I have to figure out a chip that best suites the altitude here in Denver.
