Last night a friend of mine in a Celica GT-S(Intake, Exhaust) raced a turbo del sol and beat it. Then the guy who drives the del sol started talking trash about my car saying he could beat me. Now i know my car isn't that fast but i knew that i could beat him. So we raced and i beat him by about 2 CL. After that he sais he wanted to go again so i said sure. but this time he wanted to race in his ZX2 escort wich he thinks is faster. so i say ok. and on this race he jumped off the line first but i eventually caught him and pulled about 3 CL on him in that race. So as they would say in Halo: DOUBLE KILL!!!

Killtacular! Well done, he must not have been boosting very much.
Steve
Nice kill. Ever gone to the 1/4 to see what it runs? I'm curious too see just how much your mods helped.
I call BS - there's no bmw driver that can't run his car faster than any magazine has ever done before.

Nice kills!
I didn't know Del Sols were turbocharged. You'd think an aftermarket turbo would make it pretty quick.
98 ///M Roadster - Sharked, FDK, twin Magnaflows, UUC Stage II Flywheel, OEM M5 Clutch, UUC TME Red & Enforcers, Zimmerman rotors, Cosmos CAI, ProjectorZs w DDE, 6K HIDs, fatter rubber on the corners, UUC Underdrive Pulleys, and Stewart High Performance water pump
To my knowledge they aren't turbo'd.
Steve
Dude... something ain't right. Del Sols are not that quick stock but with a turbo, no way it's gonna lose to a 1.9 unless the turbo is actually sucking air OUT of his engine.
Is it a slushbox?
ZX2s are a joke. Good job killing him.

2013 Bianco/Rosso Abarth 500c - 5 speed
2016 Oxford White/Grey Ford Transit 250 Powerstroke 148 MR (DIY RV conversion)
I'm sure he won because of the mods. Just with the upgraded ECU it would be enough to beat him, but he went further and did a push button start, that's atleast 10 rwhp right there. jk
Wow, that guy sounds like a douche.

neither were slushboxes. and the del sol was a SOHC Vtec with nothing but the aftermarket turbo and it was running 5 psi.

Nothing but an aftermarket turbo? No software or anything? I agree, something doesn't mesh quite right here. The Z3 1.9L runs the 1/4 in around 16.0 right? The Del Sol, even the slower one, runs it in 16.8 stock, the VTEC knocks it down to around 15.8. Seems like ANY boost would be enough to at least keep you guys even, let alone your car blowing him away.
But congrats, perhaps his car had some kind of other serious issue.
The turbo b18c1(GSR VTEC) around here runs 11s.
It is also a del sol turbo. He runs a higher PSI and the car is well tuned, its a f*cking rocket. I don't see how your car beat a turbo honda just because those cars are very light and should be pretty quick turboed.
But then again, i know of people who have run 16.8's in their HIGHLY modified turbo hondas so i guess anything is possible.
Two things:
-Tuning
-Driver
I have yet to see ANY decently tuned turbo Import run slower than 12's around here with an experienced driver.
In any event, nice job

The del Slo...I mean Sol, must've not been running right. Even at 5psi, it should've at least given you a good run... did he, at any point, lift up his hood, said "that's my turbo," and point to the alternator?
it sounds like a lot of you are finding this hard to believe, but Armo95 has got 100% of the answer in half of his remarks. The big thing here was the driver. I know the guy who used to own this del sol and he probably would've beat me. But the guy who owns it now isn't that great of a driver, doesn't take care of his car, and is just a flat out idiot.Originally Posted by Armo95
And yes it has an actual turbo, he didn't point to the alternator

I hate to say it but the fastest car Ive been in was a del sol with a turbo GSR motor . It was my friends GFs car and it mustve been pushin around 300hp. Seemed like the fastest go kart ever.Originally Posted by 525iT_Feen
my cousin had a del sol turbo running 3psi and ran it to a high 14s. a week later he then raised the boost to 7 psi and ran high13s and low 14s........i don't doubt that you beat the guy but i think the guy was playing games with you......so i agree with MPOW3R and rollmpowerOriginally Posted by oneoverz3
