pull off the front license plate, (with molding) pull out your lower front grills and then you'll see a tap on the upper side of it. push it, and it pops out.

You dont have to rip that all off to get to the fog light tab, but its a lot easier...

Yes, stick a screw driver in the little notch in the lower grill:

You will soon learn to do this in the dark, with one hand, I suggest doing my 9005 fog light up grade, then you wont even need head lights!!!!

    1. get a flash light, look in the grill opening, just to the side of the brake duct you should see a handle, push that forward with a slotted driver, it should pop right out.

    or

    2. shine a flashlight down behind the headlight unit, look closely you can see the same handle above the housing, reach down(small hand) and pull the handle toward the wheel well, it should pop out.

    give those a try

Try this, you should have a set of 9005 lying around after you switched to projectors:

Be careful, you can break the tab that holds in the foglight very easily. As you can see, I learned the hardway.

I use clear silicone, just two dabs on the botom, when you want to remove them just take an exacto knife to the silicone, pop out the fog light , the peel it off. If you hit a big speed bump your fog will fall out, and the wires are just long enough for it to hit the ground and break...

I had to jam a screw driver in mine and pry the thing out. Those clips are not worth shit anyways. The part on the fog light is metal, but the bracket is plastic. One day you will hit a bump and your fog will dump out into the street. the dreaded fog light delete mod.

got it finally--stuck my arm down through the top and released the clip
with my hands. i'm sure i would have broken it with the screwdriver method
through the front grill. i guess bmw's aren't reknown for their foglight design.
oh well. now i have to do this for all my friends.

    great info here--thx

Do WHAT? You can use a flashlight to look in between the slats and insert a flat bladed screwdriver to gently push on the release's pawl. It is sort of got a lever on it. It can be done, so do it carefully. The front of the light will "pop" out, allowing you to gently pull the entire assy. out.

I used a screwdriver and it swung open in a few seconds. THe hard part was getting the black plastic cover off the lights, the PO glued them on, unless they come that way
