    600w amp and 2 10s - factory 6 cd changer

Is it possible to put my 600w amp and 10s with the factory player (because I don't think it needs upgraded) Does the factory amp/HU have any rca outputs? Thnks (Tried searching couldn't find anything!)

stock headunit in your e36 does not have RCA plugs out the back, but the output is line-level. you don't need a line-level converter if you grab the signal the h/u output. you'll need the line-level only if you grab the signal at the stock amp output.

i used to run aftermarket amp/drivers using stock headunit and stock changer. easiest thing is to unplug the stock amp, and tap into the headunit signal at THAT connector in the trunk... that way you don't have to run RCA cables from the dash to the trunk. solder RCA jacks to the stock harness and plug into whatever your setup is.

fyi, the stock headunit output is EQ'd to match the stock drivers, and is mid-bass heavy. An aftermarket EQ is recommended.

Good excuse to get an aftermarket head unit...
