E34 M5 v '99 740is (sadly a literal kill story)

This story was relayed to me by a friend in Cali...

He was messing around with an E34 M5 with his '99 740iS when they both jumped on it...The M5 slowly started gaining on him, but as the speeds climbed so did the gap and how rapidly it was growing...Around 120 (740's speed) with about two car lengths between him and the M5 up ahead all of a sudden there was a loud BAM!! And then tons of smoke just starts pouring out of the M5's tail pipe and around the engine.

My friend wasn't able to stop since he was late for an appointment (reason he was speeding in the first place), but the guy pulled over and that was that...I woulda stopped...Guy prolly grabbed 3rd instead of 5th...Just a guess....After something like that a man is going to need a shoulder to cry on...
