What would an e36 m3 with an exhaust chip and intake run? i havent seen too many time slips with these mods, so just wondering. Thanks.

I think that depends on the year (OBDI vs. OBDII).Originally Posted by ellinopedo182

Really though, your times are dependent on driver skill. You can be modded to hell and back and run mid 14's because of a lousy 60' time or if you know what the hell you're doing its even possible to dip into the 13.9 range; just get those 60' times down and you're good. But on average I'd say you could pull low 14's.

Too broad of a question. I've seen people do 14.5's with these mods, then on the other end of the spectrum i've seen someone do a 13.5 with intake/exhaust. 95% of people on this board suck at driving (i've been on for 3 years, I know). I've clicked off an 8.79 @ 82 mp in the 1/8 mile with only an intake, whereas people with intake and exhaust are doing 9.30's and such. All about driver bud, not saying i'm the best, but I can hold my own drag racing.
I'm more curious to see a before and after dyno run (same dyno, same conditions, hopefully same day) comparing a stock 3.2 to one with those modifications. My hypothesis is that the modified car will gain ~10 whp, but at the expense of midrange torque. I'd love to see an experiment like this that is at least semi-controlled.
Well, Iv run my car plenty of times with only the exhaust and intake, no chip though. My best run was a 13.8 @ 97mph with a 1.9 60' though...so Id say a nice low 14 with those mods is about right, also depending on the driver of course.
