Does anyone know what the cost of replacement is?

I had a tiny rock hit mine, that gave it a little tiny spider then the sun came out today and decided to split a line out of the spider.

Insurance deductible is $2000 so I don't think I'm going that way.

    Thanks

If you can get a sizable discount from your local dealer, the front windshield costs around $250, otherwise you're lookin' at about $300. Figure about $150 for labor to install. FYI, aftermarket glass isn't much cheaper, so you might as well go with the real deal. Hope this helps.

    windshield replacement

I had to have mine replaced and went with the dealer. I don't have the receipt in front of me but after a 10% discount the total was just under $600. The 'glass specialist' I talked to said they use BMW windshields anyway so the only way you may come out cheaper is labor. Labor fee is four hours if you know what local dealer charges per hour.
One thing... BMW says that to install the glass correctly 45 lbs of weight must be put on the glass and left there 24 hours to set sealer /adheasive correctly.

Wow! 4 hours to install a windshield? Is there something special about BMW windshields? I have had other windshields installed in less than 1/2 hr. I sure hope I don't have any problems with mine (knock on wood).

Thanks Guys!! I was just told that it does take a day to do and settle and that if its done wrong, the windshield actually slides down after a few days. this is only if its installed wrong.

If you are in the state of florida... florida law says that insurance companies must replace the windshield of a car... with $0 charge if it is damaged by road debris.

I've had two windshield replaced in my driving lifetime with $0 due to rock flying up off a truck or car or something and cracking the windshield.

No deductible, No raise in insurance... plus they even send a guy out to your car to do it while you work or while you sleep or whatever.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
