    6-speed Conversion

    I'm new to and to the M3 world. I came to it from a '95 540, 6-spd and I have a question.

Has anyone on the forum had experience with swapping the 5-speed for the Euro 6-speed? And, what kind of driving experience have you had with the new trans?

Are you driving the 3:23 diff, or have you changed that out for a different ratio?

    Thanks for the info

    Mike

You should track down eclou. He's running a 6 speed and a much lower rear end (3.64).

Thanks for the quick response...but, again, being new to the forum, how do I track him down?

    Thanks again,

Mike, it is a relatively straight forward upgrade. It feels very good and like the way the car should have been equipped. It costs about 3k in parts for tranny and ?? for a new diff. I may have a new direct source for 3.64 rear ring and pinions (hear that Brian?!?). You can recoup some costs by selling the old 5spd and diff. I will tell you how to get the install done for free...
