well mine is pretty fast and i've done a few things. you can't get a more aggressive diff than the 528 has; 4.10. the best bang for the buck was the M50 manifold swap i did. it's inexpensive and nets you some great high end hp. you really feel it on freeeway passes and the like. intake will just make you sound cool. exhaust will give a little kick but i'd recommend buying fro sound over performance. software can help a lot with throttle response and power. all those together will help add a few real horses.

of course you could always turbo that awesome M52

    Mod List:
    Racing Dynamics RD48 front bumper
    Racing Dynamics RGR wheels 18x10.5 & 18x9
    Kumho MX tires 275/35/18 & 245/40/18
    Custom Dual magniflow exhaust (catback)
    Custom CAI (bumper mount)
    AutoThority engine software
M5 kidney grill with black slats
    M5 trunk spoiler
    Smoked celis rear lights
Euro angel eyes w/ red halos
    H&R sport springs
    Bilstein Sport shocks
    Eibach fr/rr sway bars
    K-mac camber plates
    Front strut tower brace
    Tint: 40% all around
    De-windshield wipered
    De-badged
    M50 intake manifold

    to come:
    540 or M5 front brakes
    M3 camshafts
    24# injectors
    3.5" HFM with new CAI
custom software to run it all
    Turbo in my dreams

i see you're from boston...go sox...also, ask Olek about how 'fast' my car feels. he's riden in it before and after the M50 mani swap.

You wont see significant gains doing little things which cost a lot for BMW's. IE: intake, exhaust, chip, pulleys, etc. If you want to see some significant results, you have to go with forced induction. Slap a blower on the car and you'll get about 100hp. I have seen used kits for sale on various forums for around 2-3K, install would cost about another grand and you'll need software/ecu. Id say that would be the best bang for you buck.

If yselling the car is an option, you might as well pick up an early model E39 M5. They are not that expensive anymore.
