Now on to the pictures and my thought concerning the install. I'll organize each part of the install in chronological order.

This was by far the easiest part of the installation, but was not without difficulties. I bought this headunit from a friend of mine for $100. It seemed like a great deal, and it was meant to be. But when I got it I realized I still need to buy the wiring harness, which added another 20 dollars to the bill.
When the wiring harness finally arrived in the mail I was excited and thought now I can finally get this bad boy hooked up. After about 45 minutes of splicing and saughtering wires it was finally ready to test out.
When I pushed the power button everything seemed to work great, that is until I got to testing out a CD. Disaster struck, it kept throwing error codes at me. At this point I was rather disapointed, so I brought it to a certified Pioneeer repair center. They quoted me 160 dollars to repair it. Apparently the laser was damaged in it. I decided to give them the go ahead on it.
A week later I got it back and it worked perfectly. The final bill, 280 dollars. Still not bad for a head unit that at that time was selling for $550.

The actual installation of the components was pretty easy as well, especially since I chose 5 1/4 inchers. In retrospect I wish I had gone for 6.5s and dremeled the kicks out, but these are a great set of components, especially for the price. They remain detailed even at high volumes, the only thing they really lack is midbass, which is why I wish I got the 6.5" version.
I chose to mount the tweeters in the stock door location. It worked out pretty well.
I'll add more pictures and info later.
show the pics of the trunk setup progress !
This is really the pride and joy of the entire install. It will consist of two custom fiberglass sub boxes and a false floor in the center. This part of the installation is currently underway.
I feel that I still need to make it a lot thicker, then it will be time to move onto fleecing the front and attaching it to the back..
shweeet, props on the diy

Update:
I said screw it to fiberglassing the back and built it out of good ole fashioned mdf. It took a lot less time and it has just as good of a fit. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.
I still need to glue them and trim a bit, then sand. This is just the rough mock up. Still some time left on this project.
And also, that is my old false floor. It will be redone.
start doin the fiberglass already! now if only ED will ship u ur damn subs, bastards...
Update:
Boxes are glued, fiberglassing the front will comence this weekend.
