    Whining noise when playing music

I noticed this whining noise that varies with engine rpm whenever I turn on the head unit either playing CD or radio. As soon as I turn it off, the whine goes away. I know the belts are fine. Could this be the alternator whining under load? I have an alpine head unit with Infinity Kappa speakers (no amp, no sub).

    Thanks.

Agreed, your main grounding wire from you amp maybe too long.

Oh that makes sense. I just bought this car, and the previous owner had a bunch of stuff on and taken off, but all the wires were left there. So it's quite possible. Do you think shop like Al and Ed can fix this?
