If your window is dragging or slow going up or down. Highly unlikey its the rubber sticking...If you have never replaced the window sliders and greased the window tracks then you may want to start there. That being said, there is a felt liner in the inner lip of the exterior window weather stripping that rubs up against the glass. The felt liner may have deteriated and left with just rubber that could cause the sticking of rubber against the window..I recently replace my exterior window seal but it was not beacuse of the window sticking. My issue was water entering between the door panel and comming from under the door card. What i noticed when i removed my old rubbber seal was that the felt liner was vertually gone...Basically left with hard plastic.

    I love turbos!
It looks like the area was wrapped at some point in time. Looking at pics of other Atlanta Blue Z3s, some have the A pillar and surround wrapped, others do not. From your pic, you can see the blue A pillar under the black vinyl. Perhaps go to a company that does wraps that can remove and replace, or just remove it.

The black windshield surround was only on the first couple years of Z3's. Most people just had it removed, it should be painted body color underneath. Otherwise, remove it and re-wrap it in a matching vinyl if you like the look of it black.
