I got a free repair manual online to start a full overhaul of my M44 engine. But It only says to refer to "ENGINE - TECHNICAL DATA (M44)" for important values.
What is "ENGINE - TECHNICAL DATA (M44)" ? Is this a book? I'm in Japan how can I get it?
it's the part of the manual you need to pay for.
it looks like you found a original bmw workshop manual, but only a part of it, because the section ENGINE - TECHNICAL DATA (M44) one can click on, I do not have that for E36, but as example here from E31 , see at top technical data https://e31repair.com/ and a new window will open with technical data.
workshop manual is good for info for the DIYer, but it has too often the instructions "use BMW special tool #..., refer to BMW instructions...., which we do not have.
Bentley manual is better for the DIYer.
where in Japan do you live? I am from Ibaraki pref. near Moriya City + have a original hardcover paper version Bentley repair manual E36 in good condition, bought from USA +paid expensive shipping cost. Could sell it to you if interested. If interested in original hardcover paper version, send me a PM. You will be able to PM in a few days and some more posts, this is the forum spam-o-matic system to avoid spam posts by newbies.

Thank you for kindly letting me know.
About Bentley manual,
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1J7...lGH2w16VkhL2lx
I downloaded this a while ago, but it did not contain the information I am looking for.
After that, I got most of the data I needed from this message board. (It is clerance data mainly)
Still missing data is, about piston to wall clearance, in which part of the cylinder should the bore be measured. (ex. "70mm from block upper surface")
As I want to confirm it by a publication for other data, I made this post.
Does the Bentley book you own contain this kind of data?
what you found are all data the Bentley has, but it does not have such data you want to find. What you are looking for is a factory repair service manual same as BMW service use. Maybe a member here has such data and can post it or send you by email when you can PM. Do not post your email openly in the forum, otherwise you get too much spam/scam mails, such private data only by PM private message.
This I just found, free download, but no idea what it is in detail, all car manuals, check it https://www.allcarmanuals.com/models-BMW.html
Here are ~ 140 pages BMW torques you might need http://www.e38.org/bmw_torq.pdf

BMWTechinfo has probably those details, but you have to pay for it, 1 day 32 $ https://bmwtechinfo.bmwgroup.com/#/login
site info https://bmwtechinfo.bmwgroup.com/ass...nformation.pdf
some years ago bmwtechinfo was free of charge, but no longer and all illegal sites were closed down.

Thank you very much again.
It's also a good idea to compile the information I'm looking for and use it one day.
I took various measurements of my engine parts today, and the results matched the data I had obtained so far, so I will continue as is for the time being.
