I tried updating my e39 ecu to the latest sowftare using winkpf but halfway I got an error. After that the car wouldnt want to start and I got a message in the cluster "injection fault - transmission emergency mode". I tried updating again or using other software version but nothing worked. Winkpf displayed IFH-0010 datatransmission to contrilunitdisturbed.
After searching on forums someone pointed to try to update using DISv44. Programming unit -> faulty unit still connected -> reprogram unit. I got an error again saying that it couldn't be completed. Now the cluster is completely black and doesnt display anything. INPA cant read any module of the car.
Im desperate guys. Thank you
We need more identifying information about the car and exact modules you're working with.
Also what ZB number was there before, and what it was trying to go to.
Also what cables you were using.
Updates don't add new features or make the car better, especially on these old cars.
Still, the rest of the car should communicate if your setup is good or diagnostic cables are good.
With so little information, it's hard to recommend a pathway to fix it.
