Silverlabel DME to Red Label DME for cheap EWS Delete

So i lost my key like a dummy and wanted to know if instead of buying a expensive 200$ chip for my current DME (A silver 1 743 251), go to a cheaper red label DME like done at the end of this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnR7QL2J0A8&t=444s) Specifically at 12:40. Would there be any negative effects other than a loss for security?




Car is a 95 318i if its any relevance

Edit: I also wanted to know if the red labels numbers matter (Ex: if its a 413 or 402, 104 etc)

EWS delete will be cheaper and a 413 or 402, 104 will not work on 318.
