Hello, I recently picked up a 1991 318is with mtech2 body kit which accommodates Euro style plates. I live in a state that requires both front and rear plates be attached so I am trying to figure out the best way to attach the plates without having to drill into the bumpers.
I picked up this rear plate filler which has cutouts for US plates but would still need to drill into the car it seems to get the plate attached:

I also picked up this bracket for the front plate but again will probably need to drill this onto the bumper by the looks of it:

Would anyone have any tips to attach front and rear plates to either adapt to the euro plate width or without having to drill into the bumper? Thanks!
What about a tow hook mount for the front? For the rear, mount with a Euro plate, then bolt the US plate to the Euro. Or, use 3M automotive double sided tape on the Euro plate.
Will look into the tow hook option for the front. That seems to be the easiest way to mount the plate without drilling. I’m not a huge fan of the look of the plate being offset to one side but if that avoids drilling it’s probably the right call.
Can try bolting the rear plate on top of an EU plate attached to the EU mount on the car already.
I use industrial strength velcro. Hiway tested to 65+.

why not get a euro style plate built for the car ? as long as the plate number is correct and the state properly identified it's legal in most places. there are a few places that make them.

These look great but not sure they would fly in NY State. Anyone tried these in NY and have any issues?
you can get ahold of the local dmv to be sure. as long as the plate / state / is properly identified and the insurance is good it's legal. those examples are sorta generic, the better places copy the style / background of the state plate. it's simply a longer skinnier version ... or so she said lol
i live in canada and have seen euro version provincial plates here as well.
Front and rear is required in WI, but 1/3 the cars don't have em. I can't imagine getting pulled over for it (knock on wood)
