Tonneau motor does not release

Tonneau motor does not release from the assembly after pulling the emergency lever. I see the lever move that releases the motor but it is still stuck to the assembly. The two metal wire rod that is connected to it has a lot of tension I don’t know if it’s normal or not. Any tips on how to get the motor released so I can do a resync with my convertible top. what happens if you just press on the release levers on the motors themselves?

I had the same problem. In my case the motor was stuck against the bracket. I was able to tap it gently sideways with a hammer and it came loose.
