Trying to code my 2000 740i e38 for the manual swap. Had Teamviewer session with DUDMD to upload engine tune which we were able to do from OBD port in car, but only if pins 17 and 20 on the round connector were NOT bridged...bridging them seems to cut communication to everything.

INPA will show the black dots for battery and ignition no matter what I do, but neither INPA or NCSEXPERT will read anything from the car if pins 17 and 20 are bridged in the round connector.

Using 20-pin to OBD adapter under the hood nets zero communication as well.

INPA will read the DME if using the OBD connector in the car WITHOUT the pins bridged, bridge them and it stops communicating.

I have two different cables, the Amazon one works as described, the one that was shipped to me from DUDMD for tuning does absolutely nothing. When you plug it in, it flashes red then green then nothing. Amazon cable stays lit up red the entire time it’s plugged in so it’s doing something at least. Both cables have a switch on them and I’ve tried both ways

Running Mike’s Easy BMW Tools, windows 10 x64 but running these programs in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3

Very frustrated, would appreciate any input you guys have.
