Hi
I have problem with ac compressor, what are options to change it? I found one Denso compressor what has proper pulley with 8 groovy. But less than half price there is same looking compressor but pulley is different. Is pulley possible to change differently? Original compressor bearings are dead and i dont know that original compressor is unbroken. Im aware of make modifications to lock switch wiring, so compressor doesnt have to be 3 wired original one (that is way too expensive).
From bmw database, original part number is 64528385910
There is some retrofit partnumber 64528385713 but pulley looks different, this part number is e32 750i fitted.
So whats the options i have? I anyone have to solve something like this?
Car is 1990 model 850i.
Yours sincerely J.K.
Do you have an Original R12 Compressor?
If you do there are a number of easy replacements, however you have to change the mounting bracket and convert it to R134 and there is a modification that has to be done in the drivers side footwell to one of the circuits because of the change of the compressor.
And you change out the receiver which is under the dash and the dryer which is in front of the RF Tire behind the wheel well liner.
Ac already is R134 🤔
Tou can certainly use the newer Denso single wire compressor, but your challenge will be finding a new bracket to mount it to... the early cars have a different bracket and bolt locations, so you have to swap in a new aluminum bracket
