I’d wait till sometime after as long as you’re using a synthetic oil.
You can change the oil if you want but when you do, use full synthetic. Something like Mobil1 0W40 or equivalent. Don't cheap out on oil!
Here's an interesting comparison of Pennzoil vs Mobile

After a 6 day and 1600 mile trip. While I took the following, the ONLY thing I used was (tire pressure gauge, flashlight, little mirror and window cleaner/paper towels!) I was glad to have been prepared though, just in case.
Portable Battery jumper
Tools pouch
Tools pliers, screw drivers, socket set, allen
Flashlight
Blanket
hose clamps
duct tape
electrical tape (Hoyt! Thank you for the tip on not taking the whole roll. I ended up taking an empty toilet paper role, squished that down and then wrapped a couple feet of electrical tape and duct tape around that...it was very nicely compact to have done that! Thanks for the tip.)
utility knife
Little mirror
Bottle of Coolant
zip ties
rags
window cleaner
paper towels
vinyl gloves/reg gloves
2 bungy cords
fix it flat can
portable electric air pump
a couple spare hoses
All this fit nicely in a tool pouch (which tucked perfectly in the right corner of trunk) what didnt fit in pouch went into a smallish box about the size of 2 loves of bread.
I also brought along my recently replaced WP and Thermostat housing and a couple spare hoses. These were replaced only for preventative maint and in a pinch, I wanted them handy for that just in case!!! I would have NOT brought these if needing room for other items but they fit.
Sounds like a lot but a small box and a small tool pouch fit along with all our other essentials so it all worked out.

You guys pretty much covered it, except for the pretty young lass to keep you company.
