I am currently in the process of restoring my E36 Convertible (1997 RHD) and I am wondering if the rear carrier that holds the rear bumper on is a universal fit between other models such as a compact or sedan?

you'll get a better response in the e36 sub-forum. i don't have an answer but i know a lot of other things like taillights don't swap between them. you can try searching realoem for the same part number across the different cars. it will show up on cars it was used for.
