    Squeaky right rear

    https://youtube.com/shorts/qmmqLOLVb...UMKDPLsZ4jHc6o

Hello, I bought Koni yellows new and I have about 1000 miles on them. They’ve been squeaking possibly since the start. I have had a lot more issues with the rear end so I can’t really say if it’s been squeaking since installation. But what is this noise? I want to confirm it is the shocks before I go and buy new ones. TIA

more likely bushings. sounds exactly like poly bushings.

Idk I took it to two different mechanics and they said the bushing looks fine. Nothings poly. I forgot to add that it sounds like a faint bell ringing consistently at highway speeds. I was also thinking bushings until I took that video. The first two squeaks sound like the shock absorption sound turns into a squeak.

if you're on rubber then it's far less likely to be bushings. not 100% impossible but a lot more improbable. konis shouldn't have issues with such low mileage. might be possible to take the shock off and see it makes a sound independent.

I'm firing from the hip here, but I wonder if you spray individual components with water or wd40 one by one and see if and when the noise goes away that can help identify what's squeezing. Idk if it's a bad idea to spray wd40 or silicon spray up I to the shock but if the noise stops temporarily with a little lube then you for sure found the source. That sounds loud. You're not sure the noise is coming from the shock?

That might be bad advice, idk if wd40/ would damage seals in the shock maybe silicone spray would be safe.
