Hi all,
I'm in the process of swapping an 94 318is m42 into my 90 e30. I've wired everything up and am getting crank with no start (no fuel + no pump on crank and after key into on pos. and no spark). I'm 90% sure that the problem is a ews1 in the ecu. I've checked what i think is most of the other causes for this issue (cps, relays, grounds, x6000 plug etc.). Whats the best way to bypass this? btw I've tried removing the green wire pin 7. Also I have the red label ecu.
Thanks

And also to add onto this I've found the problems is the the dme relay isn't being grounded by ecu. Tested continuity to x6000 and grounds on ecu are ok
you might want to try the e36 forum. the m42 from the e36 is set up different to the e30. the swap is not very common in north america at all.
