    Hella Fuel Pump 358146761

Hi all - Saw a new product available for our E36s. Hella aftermarket fuel pumps/assembly are $40-50 pre shipping. I purchased one this week, came timely in Hella box. It is made in China and not the OE replacement like the VDO/Siemens, but those are 3x the price. It does come with the gasket which is very nice.

    I bought off RockAuto

keep us informed about the quality. That is the new Hella product range for alternative products "Products ideal for repairs in line with current values. Price and product lifetime adapted to vehicle age" , "Alternative for repairs in relation to the current value of the car" https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ative-Products

Bro I just bought that on amazon literally hold on january 1st. Installed it 2 weeks later. It fixed my gas guage and it worked. About 2 weeks ago my mechanic told me the pump is stuck lmfao. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just put back in my 6 cylinder atlezza (is200 beams) pump that I was using before. I CAN NOT GET A BMW (NON GENUINE) PUMP TO LAST!

Well darn, if that's the case then I'll have it sit on the shelf. Try to get a Bosch or Walbro pump and place in the stock housing, shouldn't have any issues then.

try it, I assume that Hella has certain criteria on minimum quality even for their alternative cheap products made by sub suppliers. Otherwise it might damage their image.

Told you which one to get. If you want to go cheap and do just the pump get one thats says it uses a VDO pump.

The german reviews of the hella pump on amazon report failures.

Be sure to replace the filter, a new pump can fail with a clogged main filter.

Both my E36s currently have VDO's in them within the last couple years and basically no miles on them. This was just purchase for the ol parts shelf. Agreed Hella wouldn't put their name on total trash. Their older OBD1 crankshaft sensor used to be a Genuine BMW but appears that may have changed too. FWIW the plastic housing on the fuel pump is branded Hella with a productive date, so it's not just a random reboxed item.

    Many E34's
Hella products dont have the same quality that they used too. IIRC they were bought out some years ago and the quality nose dived.
