Recently acquired a 750i xdrive. I bought Weather Tech floor liners. The front floor has velcro discs that have a slot for a screwdriver(?) There are no hooks to secure the liner. I turned the round disc but it did not come out easily. Are they supposed to be removed to put floor liner hooks in? If not what are they for?

The Velcro floor pads should be given a 1/4 turn counter clockwise…which should line up the bayonet that gets pushed through the slit in the carpet & into the floor pan. The pad should then be able to be pulled up and out.
This is what the bottom looks like…you can see the bayonet that slips down into the slit in the carpet:
