Hi,
The hood insulation in my car is almost completely torn up and I'm actually ashamed to show people my engine bay
On my previous car I had this very same problem and I just removed the hoodliner and hoped my hood wouldn't warp from the heat (which it never did). Could I do this to my E24 aswell or will it get too hot?
On my previous car I used adhesive remover for removing it. Is there any other products that might be better?
Thanks in advance!!
Look at Classic9 Leathershop for new insulation, closed foam and oil etc resistant. Never need another and a perfect fit. Favorite on the E3/E9 forum.

As you are from Belgium: there is a seller in Kiel, Germany which is specialized on hood sound absorbing material, seller name on Ebay: willbill-kiel for E24 they have 2 different kinds of materials in thickness and structure , also for trunk lid https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr...4&_dmd=2&rt=nc

Bob, I used 3M #90 on my Bavaria in 2013 and have had no problems. I will say getting the substrate (hood) super clean is the key and a PIA.

Hi Rob,
Happy New Year to you and family. Removing the glue was a real PITA.
I used two types of 3M glue and a contact cement with no luck.
The OEM style insulation with the glue backing worked great for me.
Hey, maybe we can get an "Idiotfest" going this year. I really miss
the event and the folks.
